Received two emails from SS this afternoon regarding "Duplicate loan part sales" for PBL096
Here is one of them :
"I am sorry to report that we have found a glitch in our system that has double credited your account for the sale of loan part ID 341605 for £364.
You can verify that this duplicate credit took place on 15/06/2016 via your account statement. We will be cancelling this duplicate credit from your account at 5pm tomorrow.
If you have any queries regarding this please contact us.
Kind regards,
The Saving Stream Team"
It does indeed look like the sale of the loan part credited my account twice on 15/06/2016, but I find it hard to believe that I didn't notice this at the time. I have an uneasy feeling about this. Why has it taken SS so long to pick this up if it was indeed a "glitch" as they say ?
Has anyone else received any emails like this one ? Thanks.

Yes, I got one too .. for all of £10, back on 23/Apr/2015 (the SS reconciliation hamster is almost as slow as Fleeting Credit's, although the SS one didn't get prompted by me, and FC always needs to be).
Mine was PBL040..
I (well, the finance-bot) would have spotted it at the end of the financial year, but doesn't do monthly reconciliation.
p.s, isn't it amazing the number of supposed 'New Fintech' companies who have not mastered 'old fintech', like accounts which add up, and transactions which are properly indivisible. I too was several £00 adrift at FC at one point (in both directions, at different times).

I received the same email for PBL064 for £250. Having just spent time reconciling my account and checking my online banking statement, it does appear I have been credited twice for that amount, but with so many sales purchases etc. at that time, I appear to have missed it.
The thing that worries me is they have stated they will take this money back at 5pm tomorrow...fair enough..it is SS monies...no problem with that, but that will have put me in a negative balance unable to purchase any of the new loans going live tomorrow if they go live late, which they have done recently.
If I had not picked up the email...or been been able to credit by account untill Wednesday I would have been relying on luck on being able to acquire the new loans.
Timing is everything and I would have been slightly annoyed missing out on new loans due to not being informed sooner..

Im fairly sure in these situations that they wouldnt penalize you due to their mistake. They seem like decent, understanding folk so long as you dont take the Michael.
A few weeks ago i was horrified when i logged in to SS to see approx -£6000 and was franticly trying to see what had happened as i knew i hadnt bought anything. Then i noticed an e-mail from SS stating they had credit my bank account twice. When i logged into my bank sure enough there was 2 lump sums of £6000. I just sent back the duplicate amount and no harm done.

..... I just sent back the duplicate amount and no harm done. Sure, no harm done at the end of the day, but it's pretty shoddy book-keeping by SS, and hardly gives you confidence in their back office. What will their next cock-up be

Have I missed an announcement that SS have cancelled their INPL policy? Can we no longer invest more than our positive account balances? Since when does having a negative balance stop an investor being allocated parts in a new loan if they have made a pre-funding request? Do I need to sell some parts or make a deposit ASAP to cover my pre-funding requests?

I've written a Python script for reconciling my account, using the LoanParts and Statement CSV files that SS provide. I've added a duplicate check that would hopefully highlight any issues like this. If anyone else wants to give it a go it's at: github.com/mocmocamoc/SavingStreamRec
