So what does P2P look like in other countries? Well this what it looks like in Indonesia p2p.crowdo.com/page/invest To see whats on offer all you need is an email and a password. Lending against gold bars anyone? (In case you ask the exchange rate is 1 GBP = 16,064.63 IDR) I would be interested in what other platforms members find.

If they need to borrow money in the first place it's hard to see how paying 45% + commission could improve their situation... Unless it's a drug deal?

Hmmm.......let me think
Indonesia, location? Pacific's Ring of Fire. A bit scary!! .......Weather? "There have been 600 natural disasters that happened in the first quarter in 2015. Around 97.8 percent of those disasters were landslides, floods and strong winds. In terms of frequency, landslides are most common." Taken from Jakarta Post........Not exactly clement, methinks pass!!
Argentina, I do not think they like us too much because of The Falklands!........Weather? Again Not exactly clement according to wickedpedia
I think I'll keep my dosh in comparatively boring Blighty!

Oh, I was not advocating investing in the platforms. I was just interested in how the idea was being used. On a number of Asian platforms there were a far wider set of asset classes available linked to lending to SMEs. It makes the likes of FC seem very conservative. If your local banking is not as well develop as here in the UK, P2B must seem very attractive. As for risk, I understand that in China it is not uncommon for a single private investor to take on a whole loan. No idea of the size of loan or individuals circumstances. Japan is ahead of us in lower interest rates. They have faced this for sometime. So many investors living in Japan are looking overseas for better returns. www.maneo.jp/apl/contents/crowdfunding/engIf you consider you could do better at P2P then why not become a Maneo Franchisee! (I am not serious).

I wonder too, from what I can see end user rates are 60%+ but... would have been worth it for a £100 experiment and to learn about how it works in that market. The site seems legitimate with 4 year history and customer support were helpful.. If only to tell me I couldn't join!
