Probably spent a fortune on 'design consultants' to upgrade the site from 'simple and functional' to 'Fisher-Price'.

ive exchanged emails with 'matt from Lendinvest' today
He said auto invest wasnt used much/poorly understood. - so rather than improving what it can do they have made it more basic.
I didnt receive any emails about investments made or new loans listed for about 3 weeks before the 'upgrade ?' so missed out on a number of loans and we have seen few since- but a couple of repayments.
Not very happy !

Why would anyone make a bank transfer (assuming they were going to invest it and not leave it idling on the platform)? There is an obvious disadvantage of time lag over a debit card but is there some advantage?

I would imagine LI have to pay fees for the card transactions.

I have two accounts with them and did not receive any emails regarding this. :-( I believe the bank is the same but your LI account number (used as a reference for BACS transfers) has changed. I only know because of a reply to one of the chat messages. On the summary page when you login your account number is shown at the top.

I dont think that it was well publicised but if you go into the bank transfer tab of add funds then it says that you must add THIS REFERENCE. This was new and seems to be your new account number. I have now transferred £40 in successfully so it does work. It will be better when there will be something to spend it on.
