Anyone have any idea why the following note was added to Loan 2431: 'The direct debit was charged back by the bank, but the borrower has now spoken with the bank which has confirmed that it will make the transfer. This will take 3-4 days, but will result in the loan appearing "late" until payment is made.'?
The reason I ask is that this loan made a payment on 23 April, is up to date with payments and not expected to make another payment until 23 May.

Maybe it was paid on the 23rd, and FC's system is stuck with a status of it being "paid" -- and then the bank (as accused) yanked back the payment.
So, because the payment will honestly and definitely be made in 3-4 days, they're leaving it as "paid" even though it should be "paid, then unpaid, now pending", which they don't have a setting for.
Alternatively, they are still working on the AI system for the automatic comment generator.

Maybe the comment was intended for a different loan? That was my thinking. Someone should ping FC. I'm trying to downsize on that one as we speak .... so any comments on it are not currently welcome :-)

Alarming. I'm in for at least two rooms and the fire escape on this one. I think I bought one of your loan parts at about 11.45, Brackers. The comment appeared just after 1.00pm.
I certainly need to check out what's going on, as this baffling comment has received a bad reception here.

I liked this loan and it is one of my biggest holdings. About 2 hours before the comment was posted, I bought a bit more at a 1% mark down, and there was a lot more on at a discount which had appeared that morning. Some people seem to have the gift of knowing that there is an adverse comment coming.
So, fellow board members, hold it or ditch it? I would bale out, but definitely requires taking a loss to jump that queue.

Then there was 4776, which said the DD failed due to bank error last Wednesday, although the payment wasn't due until Saturday. Should have sold it then, it's in retry now.  |
