Thought it might be useful to have a thread where lenders can flag up that they have put units up for sale, as otherwise people will only find out when they log in.

If anyone would like to diversify their portfolio further, I'll be putting up a couple of grand chunks of boaty loans shortly. Have I blinked and missed them in the time it's taken me to read the post and log in ? We should have timed warnings.

Having just started with SS I could do with some greater diversification. The loans don't seem to come through that fast, but I guess boats are a fairly niche product/ market.

Still £ 900 £800 of the first one left - I'll wait for that one to clear before adding at least another two chunks. That might have been me! Think I was a bit too fast it wasn't there when I first logged in.

Well it seems one loan has been bought twice and now shows -£100 available! The Sun...C.... Slight system glitch I think, guess two people confirmed at exactly the same time?!

I shall go and investigate... Went in less than a minute flat, spockie - sorry. Last chunk for tonight - one of the more sought after (37% LTV) loans, so I'll post it at precisely 22:00GMT, to make it fairer for everyone. Got some of the third one!

Yes, that has happened a few times since the SM has become functional. Not sure how SS handle that - I guess they just reallocate the funds. As funds aren't credited to the sellers' account until 100% of the loan part is sold, it also makes me wonder what happens when a few quid or even pence remains unsold. Reallocate them to what I wonder? One hopes they inform the lenders involved. And if it was you selling and you got an extra £100 don't run off with it just yet . Would think its a bit unlikely not to sell odd bits, any more than the last £100. Most people seem to be dealing with round figures at the moment, but I guess there's not that much repaid bits of interest being re-deposited yet.

Great stuff, spockie and thank you for starting this thread ...all gone now. Thanks again, guys and girls. We'll have to do it again - it makes it more fun this way. They certainly went fast, and thanks, I've got enough boat bits for now I think .

....................but I guess there's not that much repaid bits of interest being re-deposited yet. You'd be surprised - I have a reasonably regular stream of them coming in. Almost all of the ten loan parts I sold last week ended up quickly with odd amounts in them, despite me having always listed round amounts for sale. I was lucky though that somebody always opted to take the whole of the last odd amount and not leave a few pence hanging around. Perhaps SS just add the odd few pence in to tidy things up if it happens - after all, our invested amounts are only notionally allocated to particular loans.

Well, guess what, it turns out this one was me, and apparently someone beat me to it by a nano second! SS refunded the money to my account, and they say they are going to be fixing this soon so it shouldn't happen again apparently. In need of at least another now, so I hope anyone thinking of selling will post here first. They could do with some kind of (dare I suggest it) auto buy system or notification, at the moment it seems to be right time right place only.

Personally I prefer it as it is - no mess or complication. Notification of units for sale might be useful, although they currently do go quickly. You could always park your £100 in one of the others that is currently live and then diversify it out at a later date once they've gone live.
