Anyone who dabbles in the FC secondary market for any time will probably have noticed that on occasion their loan parts are purchased in moments by the b*****s bot. What's odd to me about the bot is that it often makes quite poor purchases well below market value. For example, the current going rate for 21874 is at a 0.8% premium. I listed a few parts at 0.9%, which were immediately bought by the bot. I then successfully sold up to a 1.3% premium to the same bot before it then 'realised' and stopped buying. It will also often happily buy loans that have been troubled for some time at decent premiums. It does occasionally seem to make reasonable buys for long term holds, but more often than not just buys my sub-par premium enhanced loans very quickly.
Given the occasional references I've seen about it on this forum, it clearly buys on a pretty huge scale - it must have bought thousands just off me in the last year or so. So what type of person/organisation has constructed such a greedy but basically crappy (it seems) bot ? Or are they seeing something that we don't see, whereby somehow buying below the market value of currently listed parts is a good idea for some unfathomable reason?
Conspiracy theories welcome.

The sheer frequency of the bot popping up in sale lists suggests that it's a very fast bot, beating others to the purchase. So perhaps the simplicity is key to that? Just look at the buy price, and goferit. No wasting time on doing lookups against whitelists/blacklists.
Clearly whoever's built the bot it has decided that it's worth taking an occasional 1% hit by offline-reviewing the purchases, then selling the junk to similarly dumb autobiddies, rather than lose out on better value buys by being slow.

Ah, I know the answer. It must be 'botbuys'. It fits. I hate it because it once sold me a defaulter.

My preloved parts must be especially manky since it never seems to touch them. Does it not buy property loans, though, since they make up almost all my sales?

He (it?) has snaffled up some of my least-fragrant loan parts. I must not complain.

Same here - not even sure who b*****s is as there's no such buyer featuring more than once or twice in my list of sales - and I've sold A LOT, but again nearly all property.

I initially joined FC and bought anything A+ rated. That buyer features a lot during the period that I sold 100% of my non-property-secured loans, and never since.
I now always sell my loans at a slight markup (0.3 / 0.5%) with 2mo to go following advice from this forum and it's never had one of them off me
