Just going through the credit report for 375. I've not even got past p2, and it's littered with basic errors. "...dorma windows...", "...has been assembled a to..." With this kind of attention to detail, what mistakes are lurking in the actual meat of it? <grumble> ( andrewholgate - my other half is a professional freelance proofreader and copyeditor... Just sayin'.)

I got as far as looking at the accounts. I don't understand the balance sheet. Could somone explain why the current assets include lines for VAT and PAYE?

HMRC now owe money to the company so it is classed as an asset. PS - there is a spelling mistake in your post. adrianc knows a proofreader should you want one.

You should try reading #374, on which I've already commented (#374 Norfolk Boards). It's more than a problem of no proof reading, its a problem of organising and articulating information in the first place. Its almost as if AC is using people for whom English is a second language, but since those educated abroad usually have a far better understanding of grammar than natives, I conclude these reports are the products of indigenous yoof AH must scream sometimes at what comes out. Time to put the boot in to those under-managers that allow such c**p to be published on the platform.

Time to put the boot in to those under-managers that allow such c**p to be published on the platform. As an investor in AC's convertible debt (and a significant investor in the MLIA) I think this is a serious issue that has been dragging on for far too long. I haven't looked at the credit report for #375 (allocations are so meagre these days I barely bother at all) but I did for #374......I don't think it's an overreaction to say it's a disgrace. This concerns me on two levels:- First of all did the person who wrote this report make the decision on whether the loan is a viable proposition? If he/she had input in this decision (as opposed to just drafting the report from the underlying info) then it's a big worry. How can anyone make such a decision if they can't even articulate and set out the basic facts? Secondly, if I was a new investor on the platform and that was one of the first credit reports I looked at I would definitely close my account and never return - it's a terrible advert for the platform in that respect. I'd love to say this is a one off but regularly I have read credit reports and had little idea of what is going on (even when I just read the summary). I have a strong interest in AC succeeding and I'm sure they can do better than this. There may well be spelling mistakes and/or grammatical errors in what I have just written but I am not a professional organisation handling significant sums (of other peoples) money.

Some lovely people, but some of their language seemed to bear very little resemblance to English.

One of the glaring errors that jumped out at me in that Credit Report was the writer's inability to use consistent spelling for Mrs. Borrower's first name.
