So, I feel like I have spent a fair amount of the past year on here, and in the absence of real friends thought I'd see whether any of you fancy getting together for a Festive Forum Social, somewhere in Central London, during December. I'm really not sure how many of you are local enough to make this viable, but there's only one way to find out. To keep it manageable and informal, I'm thinking: - One evening midweek (Tue-Thu), starting at 6pm finishing whenever we get bored (or get summoned home).
- A reserved space in a pub, depending on numbers.
- No mandatory food.
- Mostly likely w/c 12/12 or 19/12.
Any takers? Votes would be good, and any clarifying remarks helpful.

Nice idea...but am too far away from London these days and realistically there's probably not much chance of an alternate location suiting me either

Thank you for asking... I'd love to but living in NE Central Scotland kinda rules out a night out in London. London's a place I've only ever visited 5 times in my lifetime, one of those visits was for Queen's 'Works Tour' at the Arena in 1984. I'd subscribe to a night out with Forum members who live a 'little' closer by. Mmm, well I hope you both have a great night out

I would love to, but living in the South West, it would be a 3 hour train journey there and 3 hours back again, and that it "High Speed" as far as GWR are concerned!

Thanks for the responses thus far I think we're approaching a critical mass (and based on my experiences of the forum, you can all be pretty critical) that would warrant a follow-up poll to identify the most convenient date. I'll do that later today or early tomorrow, to maintain the momentum.

There are 5 words that put me off, Festive, Forum, Social, Central & London, I imagine a handful of strangers with one thing in common, meeting for the first time, amidst a bunch of drunken Hooray Henries, screaming "It's Christmas" along with Noddy Holder whilst paying well over the odds for a beer, with AdrianC trying to pick a fight with everyone 'cos he has a "thing" about his weight.

Then don't go.
