66% of my Z+ defaults still owe the full amount. That's only 2 out of 3 but I wonder how many other Z+ lenders are seeing similar patterns. My overall default rate is very low so no complaints, but it's interesting nevertheless. Do some borrowers take out loans without any intention of paying back a penny or am I being cynical?

Some never have an intention to repay. Others may take out a loan without declaring a change in circumstances. Some in debt difficulty might borrow more to try to keep juggling or even to get the money it takes to declare bankruptcy. Others genuinely have a change of circumstances after taking out the loan.
