I was heartened to see that so many of us feel brave enough to meet random strangers from the Internet, with 20 expressing a willingness to attend some kind of social somewhere, and only 13 saying we're mad. And with 12 saying they're up for meeting in London sometime in December, I think we have the makings of a moderately entertaining evening. I've set up the poll with all the Tue-Thu dates in the weeks I suggested, and we'll pick the one that the majority can make. If you can be flexible, but have a preference, please say so below and we'll see how things work out.
Please vote by the end of Thursday 1st December as I'll need to set about finding a suitable venue for the chosen date.
Clearly there's nothing to stop people who don't plan to attend from voting, but I'd really appreciate it if you didn't. Thanks.

Depending on the date (as long as we are available) BondMason would be very happy to sponsor these drinks and put £250 behind the bar (or a bit more depending on numbers).
And don't worry...we wouldn't look to subject anyone to a powerpoint presentation...just our bad jokes and dodgy Christmas jumpers...

Bad jokes and dodgy Christmas jumpers also very welcome. The prospect of subsidised drinks might also help the numbers

Note that the forum is publicly viewable, so it's not impossible that people may turn up (/be interested in turning up) who aren't registered here and haven't voted. I have a mildly amusing mental image of some kind of bizarre meld of one of those inadvertent teenage Facebook parties combined with a horde of P2P lenders .

Thanks for the votes so far. It's currently looking like either 13th or 14th December. If any of the original 12 hasn't yet voted, please do

Circulate a secret number through PM for eligibility for free drinks.

Okay, it looks like it'll be the 14th December, as it has a clear margin over the other options. I'll see about identifying a suitable venue for 11-15 people, although given that it's party season we will probably have to make do with a reserved table in the corner.
As pepperpot suggested, I plan to circulate the venue by PM, to avoid any unfortunate incidents, so could everyone who said they can make it on 14th December please PM me so that I can provide details as soon as I have them?

Unfortunately I can't make this personally as it's bound to be a good evening out, but it would be a great opportunity for one of our customer services representatives to put some names to faces. Dominic would like to attend and AC is happy to put £250 towards food for everyone. If you've ever called our customer services line you've most likely spoken to Dom at some point.

Sorry we won't see you Chris, but thank you also for this. Look forward to meeting Dom in a couple of weeks.
