Morning, I understand that there is some debate as to whether there is any truth to there being really 50+ words for ‘snow’ within the Inuit communities or the Sami having 1,000 words for ‘reindeer’, however we like to believe it as it says something about their cultural identity. As such, since it is the festive season, I thought it would be fun to come up with the definitive P2PIF list of English euphemisms for ‘being drunk’ and let’s see if we can get to over 50! I will maintain the list at the top of this thread and perhaps when you do volunteer a word, you can add in brackets after it whether there is anything interesting about it, perhaps it is regional or something new you have heard used amongst the young/office/golf club/etc. Regards, Ed In edit: Yes, I am still concentrating on bringing in loans and running the platform, etc. In further edit. No, this thread does not represent the cultural identity of MT.

I could understand the Sami peoples maybe having multiple words for reindeer, but why a bunch of bookkeepers would want or need 50+ words for snow, I've no idea.... Ian.. Oops - now corrected!

I intuit this thread could go downhill very quickly so let's start with a nice clean one:
Pie-eyed (dilated pupils).

Fifty euphemisms for being drunk? That's a doddle. Fifty euphemisms for being drunk that also adhere to the forum rules, now that's a touch more difficult!

How about 'trollied' and along similar lines, Stoli'ed - which means 'getting trollied on vodka'. Apparently. So I'm told. Bollied? Trollied on Bollinger. (Definitely out of my league...)
