I made a two large payments on Thursday night, but only one was reconciled to my account yesterday (Friday ??). Did anyone else make a payment on Thursday (or early Friday) that was NOT reconciled to their SS account ? I emailed SS , and their response was vague to be honest, but it seems they had not received my second payment although it has definitely gone from my bank account ?? Just wondering, do SS do a payment run on a Saturday ? Same here, i made three large deposits into my wife's account on Thursday , they have recognized one of the deposits and then sent an email to reconcile negative balance, just looked now and still only one deposit recognized. Email has been sent, don't expect any result now before new year.

You have largely put my mind at rest - maybe I'm a bit paranoid but I was starting to worry about the possibility of the cash having somehow fallen into the wrong hands, but that is now exceedingly unlikely given an almost identical problem for you (or your wife). I've sent a couple of emails to them, but I guess we'll have to wait until the next business day which is next wednesday or maybe even until New Year as you mention. I'm only guessing here , but I'm just wondering if the sum of my payments on Thursday exceeded some sort of "faster payment" limit , so only the first payment was actually executed ? Or maybe it's just some sort of one-off SS glitch. In the unlikely event that I get any news today, I'll PM you. In the meantime, Happy xmas !!

I recall occasional reports in the past where the second of 2 identical transfers (on the same day, into the same account) has been missed initially. An email to Customer Services should sort it out soon enough (when the office is next open, at least). In the meantime, nothing is likely to happen to parts you've purchased until the office reopens anyway.
[ps. I've experienced much the same issue with 2 other platforms in the past, so I generally avoid making more than 1 deposit or withdrawal of the same value on the same day]

Yes Liz and SteveT , you are both correct. Just had a hack around and found this from back in September : p2pindependentforum.com/post/139740It seems that if you make 2 identical transfers on the same day (as I did on Thursday), then SS loses the plot and totally ignores one of them Well now I know which will be handy going forward, so thanks to all for the above contributions.

I can appreciate how two transfers of exactly the same amount could cause greater opportunity for confusion (assuming it is a manual process). Of course, that doesn't excuse getting it wrong; they should mistake-proof the process. Ask for details of the corrective action

That's weird.... sold some stuff this morning and made the transfer request at lunch time, and the money has already been credited to my account when I expected it to be received tomorrow. Perhaps an additional payments and reconciliation run has been carried out today?

[/quote] This is the 1st run since 23/12; I made a very early hours 24/12 withdrawal that has just completed - and then returned following SS' early Spring clean.

Selling 16k of your wife's loans is outrageous, given that you have obviously made contact with them and told them the story ? What on earth are they playing at ?? As you know my own position is similar , but at least I've been spared the forced selling .... well thus far anyway ....

When did you make the payment? I did a payment on 24th to cover a negative balance, and only today it was credited. It seems SS didn't work yesterday.

It's a well known** issue that SS frequently screw up if you make N =identical= transfers on the same day. Different amounts, fine, different days, fine .. same amount and day, they are apt to misplace all but one of them.
** i.e. has been documented here several times already.

Thanks, point is now noted, no more same day multiple deposits.
