Hi guys,
I'm substantially new to p2p, so i'm sorry in advance for the general question. I was searching between various platforms, having a little amount to invest (10k€) but that could growing in the future.
I see some marketplacers offer an automatic investing service.
Regarding those platforms, today, is really so inefficient for you to leave money in the automatic way, setting a couple of criterias, instead spending time to analyze single situations? Does the return, for your experience, allows to spend this time? Expected losses (in potential gain) are really so relevant?
What do you consider if you have to decide if spend time in loan analysis, considering a non professional skills owner? I believe for sure it's different to have 10k to invest than 100k or more and to have more or less risk appetite, but any suggestion?

Hi,
I'd say it depends on how you prefer to do your investing.
There are a few where you can turn on autoinvest to fire and forget and maybe look into it bi-weekly or check the notfication emails. And there are others that I think require some manual effort and due dilligence per loan.
I use both types, but then I do have a professional interest and therefore use very many platforms.
Browse the forum sections and you'll get good input and opinion what is deemed to work best on each platform.

But to get to auto you need to start with manual investing first. There might be some criteria such as XYZ Loan type for X months from ABC loan originator that has good returns and less delays or defaults. For such instances, auto investing is best. But again, you need to diversify into both and use auto once you get a hang of things.

If you're only planning on investing in Euros then what I have to say may be less applicable as I only invest p2p in the UK and am not familiar with the EU sites....
Having said that from my experience of dipping a toe in about 20 platforms now (and having run away again as quickly as possible with some) my overall view is that the best strategy will vary by platform. If a platform offers a choice of manual and auto investing you should stick with manual - you can generally get better returns and avoid some glaringly obviously bad deals, as generally auto-invest configuration is far too simplistic. That's not to say that auto-invest is a completely bad idea however - I've used a number of platforms that only offer hands-off investing and I make no decisions whatsoever, the returns are lower but there are generally more safeguards built in.
My advice would be try a small amount in a few different places using different methods to get a feel for them, be prepared to maybe make a couple of mistakes or have some lucky escapes, and don't be too impatient to get money invested quickly (tho I think we've probably all done it!!)

Many thanks,
Interesting the idea to start with manual first, for "make experience", because I was thinking it was better start exactly in the opposite way, but it sounds good to risk some mistake to learn. Of course i'll diversify the amount in more platforms.
I'll get a look to discussions in this forum.
