The Office of National Statistics has provided figures showing that one person in ten in Britain is a millionaire. They also report that the top 10% of the population by wealth have 44% of the total material wealth of the country. Property is a major factor, which won't surprise anyone living in the SE of England who has seen what property prices have done over the years.
Not from this update but of course realised wealth tends to be related to age. Younger people have more potential wealth due to more working time and more years of compounding for their investments to grow, while older people have more current wealth because they have already spent their working years and accumulated actual rather than potential wealth.

Interesting that I fall in neither demographics & can certainly be ruled out of being anywhere near a millionaire Then again, money really can't but you happiness (but it does help sometimes )
