This link is probably the best way to go: Peer to Peer lending - The Wisdom of Crowds . A similar approach via Google is likely to be best for all links to the FT becuase they don't impose their article read limit when a private browser window is used to follow a link via a search engine. If you use a direct link they do.

I have to wonder how soon it will be before the private investor gets squeezed out by the greater privileges granted to institutions by p2p platforms as they seek growth. We have probably had the best days now as the big fish are taking the bait in ever greater numbers. Every day there seems to be news of hedge funds and investment trusts planning to join the party.

There are a number of institutions looking to make headway into the P2P arena but following discussions I've had with the bigger companies, they have all said they want to remain very much consumer focused rather than institutions. If a company were to become too dependant of institutional investors then they could very easily find themselves in trouble if those institutions pulled their money out or even threatened to do so.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Money&Co as they have some very large loans listed, and these will be dependant on institutional or high net worth individuals. When I checked yesterday the smallest loan had only been filled to 25% with only 5 days left to go.
