Hi All
Have been partaking as a guest over the last few months while I learn a bit about the ropes. First of all thank you to my 'extended family' for all your help, advice and tips, which has helped me build my smallish portfolio and diversify as best I can. I feel brave enough to post for the first time and although I will contribute more serious and useful posts in the future, I thought I would start with a little lighthearted post to say thanks to everyone and to hand out my awards!! It is just a bit of fun, please do not be offended if mentioned or indeed not mentioned.
First- freedom of the forum/first inductee into the hall of fame - the mighty Cooling_Dude

Very knowledgeable and helpful award - Ilmoro and Toffee Boy

@shavingcream , welcome on board.
There are some useful buttons available in the 'toolbar' to assist as you write a post.
One of these is for 'tagging' another user when giving them a mention (as I have done with you in this post); the 'tag user' button shows an '@' sign next to a stylised person. Click it and start typing the user name in the box that appears and it will find who you are looking for and insert their link into your text and alert them to the fact that they have been mentioned (in a similar way to if you quote them or like one of their posts). Forum members will (usually) like being tagged!
There are other buttons useful for inserting links to other posts and web pages; for inserting images, videos, the dreaded smileys and also the obvious ones for formatting text etc.
I've never quite worked out how best to use the button for colouring text... it never does quite what I expect.

Thanks It's one of the buttons at the top when you are writing a post (image below) Or you can simply place an '@' before the username, but that only works on usernames, not if a user is using a different display name (to get somebody's username, hover over a members name) Takes time, but it becomes second nature after a while Attachments:

Yep works fine ferdy, cooling dude would have been a more interesting one as like he said he has a different @ address to his profile name whereas I prefer to keep things simple.
