So what part of the rules make my alt accounts ukp2plending and sosilly against the rules? (*Edit - I ask so I can make sure my other alt accounts don't break the rules) As you well know, your duplicate accounts @ukp2plending and sosilly were deleted/disabled respectively on 9th August 2016 following a PM thread with one of the moderators. We challenged your creation and use of @ukp2plending (easily identifiiable to the mods as a duplicate of Mike ) to make a single post linking to a website that you (correctly) felt would be controversial, and at that time you volunteered the info that you had previously used sosilly as a duplicate account. The underlying rule here hasn't changed, it is one forum account per individual unless specific permission for a duplicate account has been granted by the moderators. Disclosure: I have a single duplicate account, mrctest , which has never and will never post on the public forum. It is used specifically for software testing and documentation. Another example of where permission for a duplicate account will be granted, is for a platform representative who wants to use an account called 'MyPlatform' for promotional alerts of new loans for example but 'JoeMyPlatform' for more general comment. In this case both accounts would be flagged 'Representative of MyPlatform'. A further example is when a platform representative moves to a new employer. The onus is on forum members to justify why a duplicate account should be permitted.

What about husband and wives? Do they need to share an account or can they both have an account?

/mod hat on
They can both have separate accounts, indeed my partner has a separate one which she rarely uses, but they may have to explain their existence to the Moderators if noticed/questioned.

What about husband and wives? Do they need to share an account or can they both have an account? Separate accounts for husbands & wives (or others living at the same address) are fine. Sometimes we may ask people to confirm that the accounts are for different people, since the IP addresses will often be the same. However, usually the style and content of the posts makes it fairly clear one way or the other! (Crossed with GSV)
