Think you may need to re-think this one. I personally believe that a question regarding liking the like button and disliking the removal of the like button, although not in themselves necessarily diametrically opposites are likely to produce similar results in any poll. Your supposition that the existing votes would need to be flipped is thereby demonstratively incorrect.

I have delayed this post by over a month to give you the opportunity to have come to this conclusion yourself, wondering if being given some quality time to reflect on your post would help. However now I have suffered a month of sleepless nights, I feel that I can no longer delay as there would be a large and growing group of members who, given your elevated status of a moderator, will now have succumbed to your misguided representation.

As for the two following post both made by Administrators who have also failed to enlighten you on how critical it is to make fair and accurate commentary within the forum, the less said the better.

Of course you could always edit the post to read "Don't you dislike not having the Like button not removed" and then your point would be well and elegantly made, or simply mod this entire post into the long grass.

Thank you for your observations. It would be incorrect of me to say that you are wrong, but probably correct of me to say that you are right. I would agree and possibly even concur with you that while not diametrically opposed Disliking having the Like button removed is a different question from that posed in the poll, but that notwithstanding they were likely to have similar outcomes (predicated of course on the assumption that the question posed would still have attracted the same or similar sample voting population to particpate):  albeit that history tells us that people are more likely to be against losing something they already have than for something they have yet to receive. My comment on requiring the votes to be "flipped" was therefore entirely misguided, I know longer like that bit of my OP, and may have been influenced by spending too much time on FC.

I am glad however that in spite of my 'slip' I have not suffered any sleepless nights since, and indeed had entirely forgotten of the posting's existence until it was resurrected.

Has anybody here mentioned a Dislike button?  It would provide some symmetry to the measurement of opinion (if that is what it is).  I'd vote for it.

The forum I used to be on had a 'like', 'dislike' and 'apathetic' button available on every post. Could never be bothered to use the third one
