Had an email in the last hour or so from FS about some watches which had defaulted. The borrower has now paid the interest so FS are putting it up for renewal tomorrow.
Does anyone think there will be a FFF scrum to invest? I think it's one I'll not be risking investing in, especially as it's only 12% interest.

Does anyone think there will be a FFF scrum to invest? It's a £10k loan. If FS thought it would be popular, ISTM that they would have set the bid limit at £100 or less, especially as it's a renewal. The fact that they set the limit at the relatively high £500 level suggests to me that they don't think it'll be that popular, and that the number of existing investors renewing will be rather low. Considering the history, that doesn't surprise me. There could, of course, be lots of investors who won't read all of the updates on the old loan, and who are eager to invest in any loan that isn't secured by property, so it might go very quickly. In short, IMHO anything is possible. We'll find out tomorrow morning.

I consider myself fortunate to get my £50 back without having to go through the usual iterations of auctions etc. Renewing hasn't even entered my mind as the borrower has clearly had great difficulty scraping together the funds for this renewal.

On the other hand if the borrower has paid to renew the loan then the valuation must be pretty good as he has not walked away laughing. So I will keep my investment in this one.

True that is a possibility but a risk I am willing to take, you win some you lose some. The majority of losses with pawn items is when the items have been overvalued and the borrorower walks away laughing. So unless as you say it has some specific sentimental value the chances are the valuation is pretty accurate.

I intended to buy some of this despite the scepticism of other posters, but when I logged on at 11:02 it was all gone. Is that a FS record?

All gone by 11:01!
FS need few more items that people like rather than Liverpool care homes!
