What do people think of the current state of the SM - there are a lot of 12% long term loans in there that would normally fly out. I am holding off listing things for sale at the moment.
People who have been around longer than me - is this likely to all disappear and the SM return to its usual drought - or do we think there has been a change.
I know no one has a crystal ball I just wondered what people think is likely to happen in the next few weeks.
TIA.

Chelmsford is due to repay and there will be little left as half of dfl19 is being rolled too.

It is whether I will be able to sell on the 80 90 day 12% loans that is stopping me buy at the moment. I would need to be able to release some relatively quickly.

If the £4.58m from PBL073 gets paid back today, then all the best stuff could disappear quite soon afterwards.

Normally they would sell within 30mins when I list them, but I think its going to take days. I see the situation approving all the time, but slowly throughout this week anyway.

On that basis there will be floods of cash seeking a home plus in two weeks there will be another £1.6m interest seeking a home. On the other hand we do not know what other new pipeline loans there might be in the next week?? You will have to make your own judgement call I am afraid!! By the way elliotn - are you after the prize for most posts of he week - you are winning easily - I always read them with interest as I value your views as with those of the mighty @cooling_dude.

I know I have to make my own judgement - was just curious as to what others thought,
I hadn't realised that the loan was about to repay so that is really interesting.
Thanks everyone, Glad I found the fourm.

I was reducing my exposure to ss a bit, but have taken the opportunity last few days to fairly sizably increase my holdings of 2 or 3 of the 12%'ers that I am happy to hold to term. Have some stuff to sell, but seems it would go nowhere fast at the moment and new loans going live will make worse. Once 1 or 2 repay, SM may get soaked up again. I guess it depends in new loan flow. Pipeline seems bare at the moment.

Thanks that is really helpful - I have bought a few bits and put some stuff up for sale - it it doesn't sell by money Ill have to cancel the sales and put some different stuff up instead.
It is interesting I have been in SS since Oct time and usually there is nothing to buy.

The only problem I have with the current SM is that I do not have enough money to buy more.

I think once DFL17 is sold out, the rest will sell pretty quickly.

J** 143 went live then, similar SM although this one has been extended by a 2nd giant loan dfl19 (albeit ameliorated by 135 rollover & putative 073 repayment - which can happen on a Sat if you pay the banks enough).
