He said good night on 31 March 2016
BBC news site does this quite often for some reason (brings up celebrity deaths from previous years on the "Most Popular" list)...

He was great. Never get tired of the two Ronnies; puts most of the "so-called" comedy they put on TV to shame. While I'm here I'll add my favourite Two Ronnies sketch (not 4 candles)...

The "Most Popular" list is... the most popular stories. The most read. Some numpty shares the story on FB or wherever, it goes viral, lots of people read it, it gets into the list, it goes mad as people notice it there... Just ask Tony Hart, who died in 2009, 2015 and 2016.

Last night the BBC was reporting that Radio 2 legend Brian Matthews had died, along with tributes from various celebs including The Who.
Today they are reporting he didn't die after all, he's just critically ill.
Explanation - "A spokesman for the corporation said: "We were informed by close family and friends that Brian had passed away in the night. They have since been in contact to say that he remains critically ill."
Very unfortunate and very strange - I can't understand why close family and friends would say someone had died and the next day say they hadn't.
