I think the significance of resurrecting the old post is to remind people that SS introduced INPL to provide instant account credit more cheaply than the expensive debit card system they had been using.

Hi SS, given the change in SM to cleared fund purchases only can you please update us on how your plans are progressing on instant or more rapidly reconciled deposits for 1st March, thanks. I wish you wouldn't respond to these old threads SS started... 1. I get all excited because it looks like they have started to engage again... 2. It's depressing to see how engaging and helpful they used to be

2. It's depressing to see how engaging and helpful they used to be I suspect that from SS's side it's probably depressing to see how optimistic they used to be about the level of honesty that could be expected from typical users of the platform... The initial description seems to imply a facility where, in effect, you type in a number, and SS immediately credit your account with funds, and rely on you to actually follow that up with a bank transfer. This, and the various later iterations of it, seem to have been thoroughly abused by a small but significant proportion of users, so that a facility that was intended as a convenience for the honest majority becomes a major headache to manage.

Whoop, whoop!

"monday to friday"
so still no deposits at the weekend, therefore the SM will come to a grinding halt between friday afternoon and monday morning. No point trying to sell over the weekend then...or buy unless you've preloaded your account before friday afternooon

In other news, a significant anticipated tweak to widget-manipulation techniques was announced today, which will yield improved benefits to many users. However, critics claim that it could have been done better, could have been done earlier, could have been done differently, could have yada yada yada.........

One on the duplicate thread has already warned a deposit was not made in 15 mins.

Not as a complaint elliotn, just as a report while we all get a feel for the changes, particularly as they said it would be Mon-Fri. I would have been sceptical, but seeing the other reports, tried - the first one was indeed available in about 5 mins. As people have previously found that a second deposit to the same account has been problematic (especially if for an identical amount), I decided to check it out. It did take longer but was still under half an hour, so in fact rather than complaining, I am quite chuffed! @leopardcat where did I say complaint? I noted that there was warning of a delay to the second deposit. I can now confirm this delay.

No - the person who waited 15 minutes edited to say they now had credited.
I just did a deposit at 9.15 and it was there a few minutes later - and on a Saturday :-)
I'm impressed its finally like this but its not rocket science - should have been done ages ago....

I made 2 credits this morning for different amounts, the first one was in my account within a couple of minutes, the second one was in my account in around 25 minutes.

I wonder what the set up is, were AC's bank APIs (hourly, 24/7) some combination of tricky &/or expensive? There's a reason why other platforms have someone pressing F5 anyway .
