Having gone through the tedium of proving my identity and ownership of my bank account, I have tried withdrawing some cash today, to have my request rejected. I've been instructed to send a copy of my passport and a utility bill in my name. Given that my wife has no utility bills in her name, I'm hoping that Lendy will see sense. Has anybody else experienced this, or was it because I was trying to withdraw more than 50p? If Lendy start playing stupid games like this, I'll start running down my holdings and investing in other platforms.........

Dear Scrooge,
Please note that in accordance with the UK’s Money Laundering Regulations, we are required to undertake regular anti-money laundering verification on all Lendy Platform investors as per the Money Laundering Regulation 2007 Part 2 Regulation 5 Customer Due Diligence.
In order for your wife to confirm her identity, she will need to send an email from her registered email address to verification@lendy.co.uk with the following documentation:
1. A valid form of photo ID (such as a passport or photo driver's license)
and
2. A proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement, from within the last 3 months.
You have stated that your wife does not have any utility bills in her name, alternatively she is still required to send us a proof of address document such as a bank statement from within the last 3 months, which we have clearly stated from the outset.
Kind Regards
Lendy Verification Team

I too don't have a utility bill in my name, I go to the bank and get them to print and stamp(for authenticity) my bank statement, a bit of a pain I know.

I can see this situation getting more difficult over time. All my utility bills and banking are done online with no bills or statements being sent out.

I can see this situation getting more difficult over time. All my utility bills and banking are done online with no bills or statements being sent out. Me too, but I can download statements and print them or even forward the PDF directly by e-mail.
E.g. I bank with HSBC and the online statement (PDF) is exactly the same as the old paper statements I used to receive.
Some of my downloadable utility bills also contain my address. I would imagine a copy of one of those would suffice.
