I went to manual account verification for withdrawing money from FC, on early Thursday, but heard nothing back. Chasing request & phone-call also got me nowhere. Any idea what their usual response time is?

I would have thought any personal details like that, you would need to contact FC personally

Tried over the phone - I'm just getting the answer "this is being processed", but they won't even commit to any date. Nearly a week, for all I know there's another hoop to go through afterwards, and even that's not started the actual withdrawal request. I probably have to factor 2-3 wks then to access any money when fully sold-out, and I've already spent a week in the sellout to get a decent rate, at a premium better than the market-rate. If this is what it is under normal business conditions, imagine how it would be after a Ratesetter-like "surprise" event!
I'll give it another day, but I suspect my modest withdrawal becomes an account closure. Doesn't work for me - 3 other P2P platforms can do stuff same-day

I can understand your frustration but my experience (6 years +) prompts me to ask you this.
How did you initially get started ?..in other words I presume you must have deposited some funds to make your 1st investment ?
In my case, on opening an investor account I supplied my bank details which took a couple of days to be verified and accepted. Thereafter any deposits of further funds or withdrawls was a simple matter...perhaps a couple of hours for deposits (sometimes less dependent on the time of day )..and a day or two (roughly) to withdraw funds.

It took them about 3 days to verify my bank account manually when they just started verifying existing bank accounts last year.

Yes, I could (and in retrospect should) have provided the details when I made the initial deposit. And I can see that this is a one-off delay. If the 1-3 days typical +1 day on one occasion, then fine. My concern really is if they always take a week, because they have processes that ought to be automated but are actually manual. Then, this could end up with just ridiculous delays at times of high workload. Let's see.

I'd like to thank the OP for bringing this to my attention. I'm not in a rush but will be withdrawing funds from FC. My bank account (a First Direct account that I've used to pay in using a card and that I've had since around FD started) isn't recognised. I phoned FC, someone is going to phone me back tomorrow. There is nothing wrong with my bank account, what I don't get is why the money laundering checks can't be applied once rather than me going, "why don't you know it is me? I paid you from that account and you didn't moan then!" Grrrr. I think the problem is the rules by the way, I made a bet with an online "sporting" organisation and they won't give me my money back because I won. Same bank accounts as FC Edit: just occurred to me it'll be fun to see if FC invoke money laundering in not giving me my money back, I doubt it.

Withdrawal clock now ticking.
