Rupert Murdoch sells plenty of loo roll which you can read. Don't realy understand the rush for bog rolls, given there would appear to be plenty of alternatives.
While the back page of the Daily Mirror might be a last resort, I would have thought that kitchen roll or tissues (both of which appear to be in plentiful supply) would be more than acceptable in a crisis. Also, where have all the eggs gone?
Certainly NOT kitchen roll, or anything even remotely similar, and I suspect that includes tissues too. They're too "fibrous" and don't disintegrate enough and contribute heavily to the fatbergs. It's toilet paper or nothing. [PS / EDIT: ....... besides human waste, that goes down the loo. ]

".... unbridled self-interest of our current government"I recall a certain Mr Bliar took that one to new and unprecendented heights? In fact, he made it both an Art Form and a Science!

Errrr, or we could (and should) have had our Capital, with FULL Interest, THREE years back? AND reinvested that for another THREE years of compounding additional returns? OzBoy knows best. Yes you could have had it back and invested in stock market and lost a hell of a lot Still more payments with interest than not. Got 15% capital + interest = >18% of invested capital in last few weeks so no chance of your predicted massive capital losses. You're making a tit of yourself Godanubis.

I agree, I've got quite a bit in three of these Loans and am now nervous, FS needs to go hard asap, the BoI Loan surely ain't gonna happen. The usual seeming tardiness by FS is not acceptable anymore. Never was. Well as I always say wait a few years and things will work out ok Errrr, or we could (and should) have had our Capital, with FULL Interest, THREE years back? AND reinvested that for another THREE years of compounding additional returns? OzBoy knows best.

Receivers are seasoned professionals and no fools, so, it depends, of course, if the ole "Inflate the Bill with some 'discountable fat' and if we get away with it, great, if not, it's only the real bill anyway" trick was employed?
I know I have my opinion.
A sort of silver lining I suppose that the Reduction was even requested, let alone achieved, and that we didn't unnecessarily overpay.

Self isolation seems like a paid holiday. Maybe I could lie to my employer and say I have covid 19 or I have been exposed to someone who may or may not have covid. May get some paid time off ? Very unethical though! Jesus, if people start doing that, it WILL kill the country, more than the virus. Not a dissimilar attitude I suppose to the lootings, robberies, rapes, etc that happened in London while WW2 raged, which were suppressed at the time for obvious reasons and are still not talked about to this day. Still, I suppose it would give Remainers the chance to finally say, " I told you so." as the UK goes down the pan?!!!!

Apologies if there's already a thread on this but I couldn't find it so obvs starting this one.
I know that Defaulting this Loan means a rather difficult (impossible) Asset to sell, however, I mean, NO contact in 20 days from the Borrower AND over five months late.
Time to Default, wot think you peeps?"

@monetus had to withdraw and step back for an indeterminate period while he has to attend to some issues. I recall yes, we voted him onto the CC. He didn't let us down and was exemplary.

Possibly because most people know there really is little a lender can do to influence outcomes, other than cross your fingers and hope! That's the trouble these days. Too many people are complacent & resigned to their fate.If I had a large amount in this I would be emailing & telephoning. In fact I have several times, showing my disgust. Surely some people must be putting pressure on MT. Assetz having lender votes for this sort of thing. Couldn't agree more. There's a tendency with P2P Lenders to just accept things (" That's the way it is."), roll over, and take it. [ Sorry, apologies. I'm V aware I'm guilty of repeating this mantra, so will honestly try to cease & desist. ]

The fact we have not received a single penny in nearly TWO years says it all. (BDO appointed 27/4/18) Every penny coming in is simply paying straight out to BDO's "Costs & Expenses" and there is nothing for us. We are being rinsed. I expect this Gravy Train will continue unabated. I recall the Judge at the appointment of BDO said s/he would " Keep a close eye on costs." Yeah, right. EDIT: NEVER forget, the FCA created and are 100% responsible for all this. PS / EDIT 2: No doubt BDO will be sending the FCA a very nice Christmas card, and suitable basket of wine/delicacies.

Hear what you're saying duck , but as we all know, the very convenient "ongoing investigation" excuse is 100% inappropriate, is completely inapplicable and just doesn't wash or work in this instance/question. "The investigation" has nothing whatsoever to do with Bailey's/the FCA's Gross Incompetence in keeping the fact that COLL were now Unregulated secret for several weeks and not informing Investors, as they are required to do and should have done so, immediately.Bailey also knows his stuff and is obvs VERY well versed in his subject matter. Baldwin knows this and was possibly reluctant to press matters and cross swords with him for fear of not being as well versed/informed about COLL and therefore possibly looking weak/foolish. Either way, their exchange clearly exemplifies again my oft repeated opinion that MPs need to totally understand the content/information in the letters they receive. MPs must comprehend in detail the numerous travesties in The COLL Cockup if they are going to be in any way able to argue our case.

"The City" is a very "interesting" place. I worked there for five years and the vast majority of people (outside "The City") do not have a single clue what actually goes on there. Let's just say I have absolutely no scales on my eyes and only crystal clear glasses. NOTHING surprises me about "The City", including those bodies who are supposed to "protect" us.

I agree with you tommytaylor, whilst we all appreciate duck 's wise and informative comment/s too. Baldwin should have had at least one quick supplementary question ready to slip in fast while he was flanneling. She could & should have, for instance, got in "OK, but when you finally discovered COLL should not have been on the Register, and they were carrying out Regulated activity whilst Unregulated, why did you/the FCA keep that secret to yourselves and not inform the Public/Investors as you are required to do, and for several weeks? That doesn't sound very much like 'Protecting Investors' to me Mr Bailey'" Not taking anything away from Harriett Baldwin whatsoever, we are all very grateful for her to bring COLL up and get it "out there", but as we so often see time and again, when Bailey is in a sticky situation he is allowed off the hook.
