When I did my daily withdrawal today (later in afternoon as holding account was filling across the morning) for the first time RS sent me an automatic message asking me to give the reason why I wanted to withdraw, it wasn't like a condition before I could withdraw, more a market research thing. There was a drop-down box with a few choices but not including my reason, so I chose 'other' and typed 'because I'm afraid you'll go bust'. What did other people say?

Because a 1.5% account that you can't withdraw from isn't the 3% Access account I agreed to keep open when they last changed all the rules.

On Friday I said exactly the same as you! On Monday I said "risk/ reward profile no longer works for me". I don't imagine they'll give two hoots until too many people like us withdraw sizeable sums, at which point the shutters will come down as per Assetz Capital. I'm getting all funds out ASAP.

Because I have no faith in their PF and projections.
The 50% interest rate hair cut is based on (reading the RS website) unemployment hitting 5.4% and GDP falling 0.8% but the Bank of England last week projected GDP falling 14% and unemployment hitting 9%.
That said I do hope RS's optimistic projections are correct.

It used to only pop-up if you withdrew your entire balance but now it comes up regardless of the size of your withdrawal.

Weird - I think I've had it every single time I've withdrawn on RS since way before the current situation (including smaller amounts). I remember because of how annoying I've always found it (I've always just clicked 'skip'). Maybe it's been different on different accounts for some reason.

I've been making daily withdrawals for about the last 6 weeks and I think first time I saw it, I never get the chance to withdraw full balance unfortunately....

Saw it for the first time about 3 or 4 weeks ago? Before the rate reduction, as I nearly mentioned the recent website changes then decided to skip as I had already complained about that. Not seen it since and I have withdrawn a number of times since then.

Bemused why anyone would choose otherwise.

This has been asked for months when I've made many withdrawals. You just skip it. I don't see the point.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this has been around for ages!
