The stereotype largely fits this profile and is still very common in Ukraine and Russia: www.google.com/search?q=1950s+housewifeI agree with Bobo to a limited extent in that I always treat every person as I find them. However, I don't agree that it is impossible to categorise different behaviours across different nations and cultures and indeed regions or towns within nations. But why would a female be responsible for the dangerous driving of their husband? That's the bit I can't get my head around. Edit: the pics in that link are hilarious! Edit 2:....unless you are a female in which case a dystopian nightmare... Oh I don't know, my wife views that as an aspirational role model*..... *for the avoidance of doubt, this is a joke [my wife made me type this bit]

www.google.com/search?q=1950s+housewifeand not a tennis racket in sight. No wonder the Russians are massed on the Ukrainian Border, looking for slices of pie. Serbian twit may have met his match with similar Australian dimwit , if they can only get their heads around the correct terminology. (Are his family Nestorian Christians? Could have a bearing on his attitude)

Andy Murray Marcus Rashford* Raheem Sterling* Lewis Hamilton* * These 3 appear to be particularly polarising in the eyes of the popular (ist ?) media/sections of the public: possibly not unrelated to the fact that they are black/mixed race........ Not sure it's that in the case of Lewis Hamilton. I've always held a grudge since he appeared on Children in Need encouraging us all to dig deep, while doing pretty much everything he could to avoid paying taxes that might help contribute to the wellbeing of the poorest in society (including living in Switzerland and then Monaco, though he claims this was for reasons of 'press intrusion'). Frankly I've only just recovered from his recognition in the New Year's honours. On the other hand simply for their approach to tax, Andy Murray, Jo Konta etc are on the good guys list IMO.

Lewis Hamilton has launched a charity and pledged £20M to support minorities in education particularly encouraging black people into engineering etc, 'Mission 44'.

You do have to doubt someone who makes unclear levels of income, dodges the income tax and then offers up some monies to charity.
See also IKEA, Google, Amazon. Three companies who feel they don't need to pay local tax but can help who they want (in Ikea's place the two children of the founder, NB Ikea is a charity) rather than those the elected government want.

I see it was launched (*check notes*) five months before his knighthood was announced. Mr Beckham knows what to do. I have the same cynical attitude to other sports stars (fair enough to relocate to Nassau, Kyle Edmund, but spare us the PR stunts that make you look charitable).

I've never forgiven Hamilton for this www.theguardian.com/news/2017/nov/06/lewis-hamilton-avoided-taxes-jet-isle-of-man-scheme-paradise-papersOnce they have bought all the gadgets and moved domicile to Monaco to avoid tax, it's not very laudible when multi-millionaires make a song and dance about giving away some of the leftovers to charity. However, he was ROBBED in that last race of the F1 season. He was wining that race and thus the championship fair and square until the race organiser decided to waive the rules and hand the lot to his rival.

We seem to be very cynical, Lewis knows how bad it is to be the only black driver and sees how few black people are in the pits and in the teams generally. He want's to encourage black and people of colour to get into those positions and is prepared to give a big chunk of money to help, what's so wrong with that? Most sportspeople (and others with potentially short earning careers) decide to get taxed outside the UK, or use other means to get paid abroad and avoid punitive tax in the UK, what would you do?

The UK is littered - or perhaps I should say not littered - with successful individuals who have decided to relocate overseas. And hardly the only country. Hell, I once bumped into Richie Porte when riding up in the hills around Monaco - an Australian then leading team BMC, but formerly of Team Sky and lieutenant of Chris Froome who himself also lived in Monaco. And based on the 10 minutes we were chatting, very nice guy he is too.
I recall that Jackie Stewart relocated to the shores of Lake Geneva: I don't recall his being hauled over the coals for failing to live and pay taxes in the UK.
Sean Connery - that great British icon and vocal supporter of Scottish independence was living in the Bahamas for rather a long time.
I think that John Cleese has been a 'tax exile' for rather a long time.
Anyway, coming back to the original question: the question was whether they were both single minded and 'a good sport'. I think Hamilton's response immediately after the conclusion of that complete shambles and day light robbery demonstrated that he is indeed 'a good sport'. I also think that a lot of the other ex-curricular activity he does demonstrates he is in general doing 'good stuff', much more so than many sports people in his position would otherwise do.

People ask, what would they do if they had loads on money coming in and a tax bill.
I'd pay the tax bill. (and yes, some years it is pretty large)

Meanwhile, back to the timeline of Novacc Djocovid...
14/12 - Attends basketball game, later hears people +ve there. 16/12 - Takes LFT, allegedly -ve, but digital result says +ve. Takes PCR "just in case". 17/12 - Still waiting PCR result, goes to children's awards event anyway. Gets +ve PCR result. 18/12 - Goes to tennis centre for interview anyway. Insists socially distanced, masks worn. Says he went home to isolate "for required period" - 14 days. 22/12 - Allegedly tests -ve, but test's digital ID suggests it was taken before 16/12 test. 25/12 - Photographed in public area in Belgrade with handball player, shared by journo. No masks, arms round each other - despite Serbian rules saying 1.5m distance in public even outdoors. 31/12 - Serbian isolation rules say OK to be let out. 2/1 - Photographed in public in Marbella, no distance or mask. 4/1 - Departs for Australia from Spain. 5/1 - Lands in Australia, says he hasn't travelled anywhere in last 14 days.
25/12 -
2/1 -
Perhaps we should just appoint him PM of the UK?

An expletive-laden conversation between two Australian newsreaders on Novak Djokovic's visa saga has gone viral, after a video of it was leaked online
