Meanwhile, back at the ranch (or HOC) a Labour motion to overturn the ban on fracking has been turned into a vote of confidence. What a bunch of chancers.

Coming back to the thread title: strangely, no she doesn't at the moment.

Braverman resignation: the reason seems a bit too 'convenient' and not entirely necessary (from my reading: draft paper being circulated from personal email). In the litany of recent ministerial faux pas it does seem to be on the 'apologise and excuse, move on' category.
I don't think she had made herself popular at the conference with her multi talks at different meetings well outside of the brief of Home Sec.
Certainly could be a case of a rat leaving the sinking ship. Leave now looking like it was done as a prinicipled action, so she can't suffer the fate of Sunak and later be accused of stabbing the PM in the back.
Christ, Grant Shapps as Home Sec. Definitely turning into a cabinet of the incompetents (with the exceptions of Wallace and Hunt as the adults round the table).

Apparently there are Tory MP's who would like to vote against the PM, but she has threatened to withdraw the whip if they do. One Tory complained that if they withdraw the whip the letter of no confidence that they submitted wouldn't count any more. Tough choices I guess.

Braverman resignation: the reason seems a bit too 'convenient' and not entirely necessary I think the real reason is right in her resignation letter: I have concerns about the direction of this government. Not only have we broken key pledges that were promised to our voters, but have had serious concerns about this Govemment's commitment to honouring manifesto commitments, such as reducing overall migration numbers and stopping illegal migration, particularly the dangerous small boats crossings.Just like the low tax/high growth economy plans, her dreams didn't survive contact with reality because of lack of support from the wider Tory party.

"Dear Prime Minister, A paper clip has fallen on the floor from my desk at the Home Office. As an honest and honourable person who has made a mistake, I tender my resignation.
Other people have made mistakes. Big mistakes. Why don't they resign too? Yeah, can you think of one? IN THE MIRROR?"
The country needs a Prime Minister who owns up to their mistakes, the type who would admit them and resign honourably and whose name rhythms with Cruell.... well, anyway, me.
Yours insincerely,
Put name here."

What worries me, will we have a stable cabinet in the government? If not, can we the people make changes to fix it?

What worries me, will we have a stable cabinet in the government? If not, can we the people make changes to fix it? No, wrong electoral system. In a PR country, where the government is by coalition, the other parties would have pulled out long ago. Britain runs an elected dictatorship of 5 year periods, during which the cabinet of any party with a solid majority (support of 43% of those who voted in this case) can do just what it pleases without challenge from parliament or the people.

Doesn't Shapps Joining the cabinet raise the average IQ of both cabinet and the back benches with Cruella Braverman swapping places, I'm not so sure. But still, point noted.

Never a dull day with this government. Do we actually have one? I mean in the normal meaning of the word "govern"?

Doesn't Shapps Joining the cabinet raise the average IQ of both cabinet and the back benches I see that having come out of his 'meeting' with LT, Grant "the brain" Shapps said this: Asked whether the government has broken key pledges in areas such as migration, he says: "You'll forgive me, I'm literally 10 minutes into the job, so I'll refrain from commenting on the specifics of this role for the second."Blimey, he's 10 minutes into the job and he still hasn't ****** it up? That must be a first for him.
