what's your source ? The BBC (not necessarily always correct of course) was and still is saying: "The list on Parliament's website, which shows how MPs vote, reveals that 40 Conservative MPs did not take part, including Ms Truss and Chief Whip Wendy Morton." I can't find the "list on parliament's website". I can find the "theyworkforyou" record which does show one Elizabeth Truss has having voted No. EDIT: now found the original HOP source, and you are correct it is showing her as having voted I was originally using that unrepentant government mouthpiece The Guardian www.theguardian.com/environment/ng-interactive/2022/oct/19/how-did-your-mp-vote-on-the-fracking-motionThe Telegraph also reported (and still does, see my previous link) that Liz Truss missed the vote, although Hansard shows she did vote.

Not a confidence vote according to Transport Sec but then as Kay Burley asked her the wrong question - confidence in the PM not the government - doesn't actually add anything.

Coming back to the thread title: strangely, no she doesn't at the moment. Apologies, but I now wish to do a U-Turn on my U-Turn. With Truss looking at increasing immediate risk, and Cruella Braverman having got her "move on principle" in nice and early, I'm afraid to say that Braverman does now worry me (again). Once again, apologies for the apparent contradictory positions over the last 24 hours, although I have heard it is currently the "in thing".

Is there a practical difference? I think they downgraded when it emerged so many of the big names had skived, because otherwise they'd have to kick just about the entire cabinet out of the party. votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons/Division/1372#notrecorded

Nice to see Suella arrive at Manston in a Chinook. Makes me feel really proud to know our dear leaders are comfortable when they make important decisions. I did wonder whether a common or garden stretched BMW with blacked out rear windows that greeted her helicopter was appropriate though? Surely a Rolls would be more fitting to a secretary of state ?

The standard BMW (even if it was a Mini) would likely have been considerably more comfortable. But still, it doesn't have quite the same air of "we'll fight them on the beaches...." about it as a Chinook.

It's all about the optics... It seems she didn't actually go to Manston by Chinook. Apparently, she was driven to Dover, she didn't even fly down from London in it. She then had a <20min jolly in it to look at some waves, before back in the car to Manston. It's just being spun as flying to Manston for some reason. At least her fans were waiting to wave to her!
