They couldn't, by any stretch of the imagination, have been the conversations which brought about a change of mind could they? Woooaaahhhh. Sorry just saw this. I have at no point had a conversation outside of the firm with ANYONE about the process. I have not been influenced by anyone apart from the boss (and he would be the first person to say that I don't listen to him either!). Let's just be clear on that, as it is starting to develop into a "Andy got influenced by someone" theme. Unfortunately, cynicism is often a consequence of non-transparency.

I pledged my whole pot (including the repayment from the earlier loan) to maximise my prospects without planting new money which would then fester, and got 41% of my pledge, amounting to a moderate three figure number, about £130 less than I would have bid if life was more simple. Much better than the last loan where I couldn't even log on before it was all gone!

I suspect it was simply a genuine mistake in wording / thinking through the original post. Requesting more than £2000 was, in one sense, indeed futile because no-one would receive more than £2000. However it was anything but pointless in another sense, given that the only way to get the maximum £2000 (assuming the loan would be oversubscribed) was to bid well in excess of £2000. We all make mistakes

I'm happy. I got about what I wanted and expected.
This was a vast improvement on the previous 'nothing'.
Thanks for trying to make it fair.

Pleased to see that I was allotted £740, so some of those bidding multiples of £2k must have been given a haircut. Interesting I reluctantly pledged £8k-ish to get the maximum allocation and it worked! So did you get more than £740?

Without trying to game the system or overbid I got slightly more than I expected, but less than I had hoped for, which seems a reasonable balance. I'm happy .

I will always be annoyed with systems which require me to deposit £1000 every time I want a £500 loan part just because I can't get £500 by depositing £500. (Figures notional).

I would have liked more but expected less so happy.
Saying that I am a bit concerned that next time I might not have the spare cash to commit to a pledge x times more than I actually want to ensure I get somewhere near my required amount. But as per the Prefunding conversations on the SS board there doesn't seem yet to be a perfect solution (except increased loan flow ).

Not as annoyed as the boss.... he has to type in all of the withdrawals to the banking system so you have a big supporter in wanting a change

I don't understand what all the griping is about, as far as I'm concerned, if I get anything then its better than it was before. I only pledged what I want (£500) but if I get £100 then its an improvement on the last couple of loans. My thoughts exactly. Perhaps some of the griping was a case of throwing the toy out of the pram because certain individuals were afraid that they wouldn’t get a large slice?

The minimum pledge was £100. Does this mean that if I want to get in on the next similar loan I will have to deposit another £37 to get back to the minimum pledge amount even though whatever I actually get on the loan could be fully covered by my current balance?
