Hi ablrateandy , Is there a way to easily download a tax statement? ablrate is working on that with their professional(s) rather than ablrateandy. No current way. I've encouraged them in email to do it in a tax efficient way and delay if required, since we can all just use estimates until they get a final answer. If you email customer service asking for one they can keep you up to date with progress from time to time and deliver it to you once it's done. There are so many uncertainties around things like writing off bad debt at platforms where that's relevant that we're pretty much stuck with that estimate approach anyway if we want to get in a return soon after the new tax year starts. Fortunately I haven't had any issues with HMRC when doing that and revising later once more facts are certain.

OK this might turn out to be a bit of an epistle but here goes my idea.
I often find it relatively difficult to find out about progress on prospects, what is coming next and to find a consistent way a loan is referred to especially in the early stages. It involves a trawl through emails and the forum and can be quite hard work. My proposal:
At some early stage in the development of a new loan (when Andy or David feel it is right to mention it first), a prospect should be allocated an unique number and journal page opened in which all public (ie we prospective investors) information is placed and dated. This should be kept up to date as things develop. It should contain a updated estimate of when it will launch. Journal entries should be dated (timed if necessary), be in chronological order (newest at the top) and not able to be erased. Where changes are needed this can be effected by a new journal entry.
When a prospect goes out for offers, the journal goes with it into the area for mature loans. In the event that a prospect goes on the back burner, then the details stay visible but with a note to that effect. If a prospect dies then the journal is kept at least for a few months to avoid the feeling of "whatever happened to loan XYZ"
The result of this process should be the full history of a prospect/loan etc, the basis of a pipeline view of what is likely to be coming up and a record of the dead ducks. The latter might even be helpful is noting any particular type of application that tends to fail and hence reduce the admin effort of pursuing that class of loan.
What do you lot think?

Probably more information than Ablrate would like their competitors to have?

Probably more information than Ablrate would like their competitors to have? Well even if the dead duck analysis was hidden, I still feel that a single location for all the loan info would be of benefit. If in the early stages of a prospect, Ablrate felt it too sensitive to publish then fairy nuff - it would possibly too speculative to announce to lenders anyway. LW

It's a rounding error. Apologies - on the list to solve! The solution is always to round down the displayed balance.

Overview page ring chart.
When I first started with ABL I liked the idea of the ring chart as an instant visualisation of portfolio diversification. However now I have a few loans placed it would appear that the chart can only cope with about 4-5 specific investments before it lumps all the remaing ones into an "other loans" sector which naturally grows with further investments made and hence the chart is no good at all for looking at diversification. In fact I wonder what function does it really provide?
Can this feature be made more useful or maybe better use of the space made?
Thanks LW

Secondary listing page Additional column giving effective interest rate based on the best offer + ability to sort by this. I (and I suspect others) always sort by best available effective rates on the market and funnel down from there.
Loan stats Going forward, it would be useful to have a stats page or download that shows origination volume over time, defaults over time, current ageing etc etc to help assess overall portfolio risk. Ultimately, providing the whole loan book for analysis, even in a censored form (like FC do) would be helpful to assess risk. I appreciate its early days and there isn't enough current data points to derive any statistically meaningful data, but it would still get a handle on risk.

ablrate , ablrateandy : what is the point of having Auto Investment and Fixed Interest tabs? They are "coming soon..." since the beginning and who know when they will be implemented if ever. I'd advise removing them for clarity and focusing on fixing bugs (almost there) and maybe adding a new tab called Tax Statement

The following features/changes would be helpful in respect of our financial account statements: - The ability to download our account movements in a excel or csv file. I had to cut and paste 27 pages of my statement into Excel earlier today as I finally got around to reviewing and reconciling my account since opening my account over a year ago.
- Additional category types in the financial statements. For example, an additional label for instant returns which are currently labelled "deposit" etc. This will make it easier to calculate net cash deposits made on to the platform and extraction of data for tax reporting purposes.

There is no information on historical loans, current loans not on the secondary market page (if any), or loans with trading suspended. I would like to see full info available on the whole loanbook past & present. Perhaps this has been mentioned elsewhere.
When a repayment has been marked as paid late, I would like to see a comment entered to explain why (even if 'no reason available'), and to know when paid.

Hi All
I am sending a general update today, that discusses new developments.
We have a development team working exclusively with us now and they are on with improvements and bug fixes.
We will take a note of everything here and consider it for implementation, so please feel free to unload!
Initially we are working on some internal workings that won't be overly relevant to your usage. These are basically technical house keeping tasks, like data architecture etc. Probably the first thing you will notice will be the confirmation notices when making a bid or a sale etc. Its part of confirming everyone is aware of what they are doing, evaluating risks etc.
We have a long list of improvements and if any of you were around when the first system went live you will remember we were pretty quick at getting things done, we are back on track with that so expect to see changes coming thick and fast. Happy to see your list of improvements, suggestions, comments. I cannot guarantee we will do them all but any feedback, good or bad, is always welcome.
Regards Ablrate

These have been requested many times by many people over at least 18 months.

I agree that Ablrate should get the current list of suggested improvements (like online tax statements) done first.
Once these have been done, perhaps you could allow your platform to remember a default bank account for withdrawals and/or automate the withdrawal process so we didn't have to keep reentering our bank account details again and again.
