Wrong numberplate Could be the right car, though (if the plates have been changed). Edit : a news article notes that the plate was changed after it was sold 2009 for 30k (apparently the sellers didn't know who its famous occupant was...)

I like MT and, along with C I'm slowly moving money into, away from one or two others who I've lost faith in. This Loan's not for me though, too many imponderables, may change my mind IF we can verify the famous passenger/s in the £100K'er. Mind you, the other vehicle Values seem quite high too.

[MOD HAT OFF]
I'd be willing to lend on one that has certified provenance of performing its designed for function for "The Donald" - as long as it comes up sharpish. Even if I'd have to relax my normal distaste of gold encrusted bling, which I'm sure would be involved.
[to be clear: the post is in jest]

If they want to Value it at £100K and Loan £50K against it, they may have to like it?! £100K is an awful lot of "Trust."

When I first saw this loan I thought great 50% LTV and 12%, then I looked again after all the comments on here and valuation do look stretched at best. My conclusion though and you mention it "Trust" if it was on any other site I would not invest, however I trust Ed and the other things above all other P2P players and therefore I will be in for my £300.

Can Ed assure us that he has seen the evidence chain that allows them to make this claim and that the body was of someone whose eminence is durable and not "seasonal"? I presume he has otherwise it would not be on the pipeline, but it would be good to know. I would not buy something that had added value due to provenance without the evidence, so loaning money in this situation really comes down to confidence in MT. I will go for it on that basis but probably wouldn't on several other platforms. Morning. I can confirm that we have verified the 'chain' and that the body with which it carried will endure to be important (if that make sense). Regards, Ed.

100k for a Daimler Hearse makes that a really special Hearse Struggling to find anything to compare online anywhere near that price range. You got a model number we can work from MoneyThing please? Also - is it a 'T' reg (c1999) or is that a private numberplate? Evening, The Daimler is a private plate. The value in this vehicle is based on the very famous person who was transported in it. Unfortunately I cannot disclose who that person was (or when), only to say that it was heavily televised at the time. Kind regards, Ed This loan is only for £266k, so a £100k asset does make a BIG DIFFERENCE (its 38% of the loan) If it was a collection of houses, one normally worth say 30k, but the valuation is 100k - do you not feel we should question it? To be able to evaluate the value of the assets, we need to be able to estimate the value of this car

It'll fill swiftly without us hoy & Co, as we all know. I have no problems whatsoever with "Trust" and "MT" in the same sentence, but like you this particular one's not for me either. Good marketing by MT though, the "Headline" LTV and 12% are Attention Grabbers!!

MoneyThing in the loan description you state "The assets are stored in a secure area on the borrower’s premises and will not be driven throughout the term of the loan." Can you clarify this please - my understanding is that the assets are stock for used car dealership(s). Surely if they are for sale, they will be taken on test drives by prospective purchasers. Like others have said, the £100k hearse distorts the security to the extent that it needs a massive dose of trust to contemplate this loan. Can you remind us, does MT have a 1st ranking debenture fixed & floating charge over RCC in addition to the specific asset charges, or a cross guarantee with other companies (e.g. AE) ? i.e. what other security is available to support this loan ?
