Hmm - I'm using an excel spreadsheet and a whole bunch of PMT, IPMT etc calculations. Also noting when deposits go off to various P2P companies as I'm 'losing' 1.89+Base on that cash (It's my personal borrowing rate)... so far my ROI is an annualised 700%, but that's because I'm about 6 days in and includes a couple of promotions.
"Overdue Principal REPAYMENTS"... I'd have thought whole principal + recoveries would be more appropriate.

I calculate the rate for the 5 yr bond? as
5.65 AER if there was no cashback deal
7.18 AER with cashback - based off their calculator.
That assumes the cash is received on day 1, and then for the purpose of the calculation reinvested immediately back into the investment. That doesn't seem awful to me given there is no micromanaging of funds etc... and is a pretty good new customer offer. Will have a think about this one.

Here's my apple pie for p2p thus far - starting out so obviously going after new customer offers & diversifying. I assume any funds that are bidding or are on loans that are drawn down (The ablrate 11% waste for instance) are not earning ? 700% interest rate achieved thus far ^_~, but just under 6.5% on the whole basket (Including 0%s) right now going forward. The 700% will obviously decrease, but the 6.5% will hopefully increase from day zero... Attachments:

Actually 'retry' is the status that happens after (failed) 'processing', and before 'late'. Heh - Well it is "retrying" now (9218). It's my highest % loan part (14.1, C) and is my first ever due repayment part. Clearly someone "knew" on the 2ndary market xD. The loan represents just over 0.5% of my current book (Only been doing this for 4 days). I've been gambling profitably for some years, and know these things always come down to judgement rather than luck in the long term - Was it a bad buy ?

I've got a hundred quid on bid that have 'ended' in my dashboard - why are these not showing up as live loans ? Also one of my loans is processing (A payment it seems judging by the schedule) - seems a funny time to do it. Will it be processing all weekend and the funds credited Monday or Sat morning or ? Quite new to p2p so wondering about this stuff.

Yes, Savings Stream is very nice with regards the simple 12 <-> 12% market, but some improvements to the dashboard would be welcome

Funding Circle (FC)
SM rates

Post by jimbob on Sept 24, 2015 13:30:51 GMT
I've just joined Funding Circle but don't the fixed rates present a great short term opportunity with the platform ?
Looking at my investments so far I've bought:
180 9.3 A+ 248 10.5 A 178 11.7 B 130 12.9 C
(Averages)
with the rest of the cash sitting round on some autobids as I try and diversify my way to the £1k benchmark for the £50.
Am not megadiversified or experienced with the system, so avoiding D and Es for now.
Having said that, I guess I should probably try and sell some of the few loan parts I have that are below the fixed before that kicks in too though...
But loans above the fixed rates will surely be worth their weight in gold after the switch !
Edit: Having reviewed the book, 4 loans don't make the cut. Obviously I'll want to flog these before the switch and then buy back... but as I'm not fully invested yet also leave it as late as possible ^_~
Or hold on - it says for new loans. Though I guess it'll make it tough to shift a below FI par loan once the fixed rates come in, so the selling logic still holds ?
How long does flogging loans take on the SM, do I earn interest whilst they're on there and when is the Fixed interest change happening - Oct 1st ?

The problem here is the more annoying an ad is, you are more likely to remember the product! Bang ! And the dirt is gone.

Hey Jonno - that's my plan, I've invested £100 into the waste energy thing with ablrate now too - £1k would get me 1% extra through cashback, but that'll be a bit much on a total portfolio size of ~£5k that I'm aiming for. I take it some other platforms auto diversify though the returns seem a touch lower. I'm happy with an element of risk as my hobbies include betting on politics where I had a not insignificant sum tied up before the last GE ^_~ Going to claim that £20 with Ratesetter now methinks

1st post, and I've decided to dip my toes into p2p investing with 50 in this investment and 50 in the Scottish land ! Does that sound sensible ? Will make more investments as I see the interest start to return
