With the reduction in rates and the amount of cash drag (which seems to be getting worse, rather than better), I'm not sure I see much point in investing here any more . i wish more people felt that way, it does seem hard to get invested here.

Hi ablrate there has been silence on this loan for some time. The latest comment on the website is that this is expected to repay by the end of the month - ie. tomorrow. Please can we have an update? We are expecting repayment imminently, just waiting for lawyers confirmation todays email "Just a brief note to inform you that we have received the funds for the early redemption of P*** W**** Loan #1000072. The settlement payment, which will include your original capital and interest earnt up to and including today will be made to you all shortly."

farmland works well for me as well, bought as hobby land, 16 years later i have been offered 13 times the amount, its done well as my pass time, also provided plenty of firewood over the years. i haven't really gained anything yet though as i still own it and probably will for the next 10 years or so.

When do reckon this becomes a loss, viable to offset any P2P profits? I guess some of us must have some. Since the site went down I'm unable to do my tax.... Since we now know that COL were not an Article 36H-compliant regulated platform, SAIM12000 precludes offsetting any COL losses against other P2P income. I guess it may be possible, if you have large enough Capital Gains elsewhere to be paying CG Tax, to offset any COL losses against your other Capital Gains. {crossed with archie } my bold is there a time limit on how long a capital loss can run over before it can be offset against a capital gain, example my loss is this year but i may make a large gain in 10 years from selling my land, would i be able to offset one against the other. TIA
