See Part 3 for customer due diligence.
Summary: And? It doesn't change the fact that British citizens aren't legally required to provide photo ID to prove identity. Not everyone has a passport or driving licence in any case. Also, there's no reason to request certified copies instead of original bank statements.

British citizens aren't required to provide photo ID but no alternatives to it are mentioned in the email + RSM could've asked for original bank statements instead of certified photocopies.

An original Lendy-linked bank statement should be enough but of course that's too straightforward and logical.

I've had the 'send info' email - They're clearly making a meal of the AML checks. FC went through a money laundering check process recently - they were happy to confirm the bank account details. They accepted redacted emailed images of bank statements for this. * As long as the money is returned to the same account it originated from - no "laundering" has taken place. Why ask to see my passport? I'm 58 - I have half a dozen p2p accounts & a dozen plus other on-line financial things. I've never had to provide certified picture ID before. My potential return from lendy will be a few hundred pounds - who launders such a small amount? This process adds insult to injury. *PS. I failed the FC 'auto verify ID' as well - so had to provide the bank statement image. I believe (but not 100%) that auto verify of bank ID details fails if bank account is old - mine is 40 years old. British citizens aren't legally required to show photo ID like this. We don't even have true photo ID here. Passports are technically travel documents and a driving licence is... a driving licence! I think it's just laziness or ignorance that we're sometimes asked for photo ID. Even the ones for buying booze are technically proof of age and not ID cards.

I put some in on the 19th of this month. I'll let you know when it's matched. Mine is matched and lent out but forgot to keep checking soz... Probably took a couple of weeks or so.

5 days and still not matched. Even though i love lending works rates at ratesetter are creeping up to 6.5% for 5 year. If rs rates go above 6.5% i will pull my money from lending works. I want 6.7 just to make up for the higher withdrawal fee. Lol 5 days is nothing. My funds deposited on 7th December have only recently been matched.

Getting a bit silly now. Was gonna put more money in but last deposit is still waiting to be matched. Surprising that so many dump money into LW over Xmas period when they should be skint.

Or not many people even voted. Wouldn't surprise me. I was thinking along similar lines _ ie: for many, P2P is a weekend activity, so makes sense for the vote to be open over the weekend to allow for greater participation. Then tag on a few more days so that the weekenders' can't criticise Lendy for not having a weekend support function to answer any support tickets they raise. (Not that such tickets appear to have generated meaningful replies so far, but ' the vote is yet young' ) A friend of mine thought we were covered against losses just cos Lendy is now fully FCA authorised. Shows you how naive some people are. Guess he was thinking of the everyday banking protection. Maybe that's why some don't bother voting - apathy and thinking Lendy will do what's best.

Sets a very poor precedent to extend the vote time. What's next, amending text in the choices after people have voted? I'm guessing this can only mean option 2 is in the lead. Or not many people even voted. Wouldn't surprise me.

Well done douganole. With many more Complaints it will be a small, gathering snowball rolling down the hill and becoming a massive avalanche. IF The FCA bothers to do its job. I think they said it's not their job. The dodgy grammar was disappointing also.

i guess this has been posted before, but makes you wonder how hard it is to get full FCA approval
Well, it took long enough and Lendy had to make lots of changes. Doesn't mean the changes were right or the FCA know what's best when it comes to P2P finance. Edit: Actually, it appears the changes Lendy had to make have reduced our profits and increased their own, or at least left them intact, depending on whether you believe there's a scam going on behind the scenes. We used to get monthly interest payments no matter what but now they cease and we get these dodgy offers.
