Yeah, I've had one reinvestment too, Pom. Now up to 28 myself, after another top up today.

Looks rather similar in concept to Property Partner, except that an ISA is available and they are seeking REIT status. Clicking through appears to show that they have 2 flats to invest in so far. Not really. On Property Partner you are investing in shares in an SPV for an individual property, for bricklane you are investing in shares in a property portfolio. You cant invest in the individual properties and have no say over what the company does with those properties unlike PP. Incidently PP is authorised to offer an ISA, they just havent. That's strange. I asked someone at PP last week whether they had any plans to launch an ISA, and they told me at present crowdfunding investments weren't permitted in ISA's, though they could be included in SIPPs ?

littleoldlady , thank you for starting this thread, great idea as it'll help Gordon/Collateral to help get the mix right. Appreciated. Collateral Rep , pawn only please with emphasis on Jewelry, coins, medals and works of art, collections and the odd boat here and there would be good too. It would be totally brilliant to see Collateral become Britain's largest and most respected Pawn Broker, the £resources are available here in a rapidly growing P2X market place to make such a goal achievable and, provided Collateral continue to run a tight ship then it is also very doable from a 'respect' point of view as well.
Please, please no property, no consumer lending and no P2B.Best regards. Very much agree wth these sentiments, magenta14 !

Like others, I came to Collateral specifically for the diversification into assets other than property and business/consumer loans. Instinctively I like the jewellery, especially as it's underwritten, but as I know very little about it, I try to provide an extra level of security by only investing in the ones with lower LTV's (more wiggle room in event of default!).
However, when more detail is provided on the cars, I probably favour them, as I can also do my own rough valuations based on the going rate on auto-trader etc. that I'm not able to do on jewellery. As long as the collateral valuation matches the 'going rate' and the LTV bakes in enough room for a trade sale in the event of default on the vehicle then I'm happy to invest, especially with the assurance of a trade partner willing to purchase at the loan value, should the need arise.
I'd rather ignore art and novelty items, as they may be more difficult to sell on and may be more prone to trends/fads/fashions...?

Thanks again Collateral REP, Gordon, for including a full description on this morning's vehicle, makes me happy to invest in larger sizes.
In common with the Audi, this looks another nice deal this morning imho...cheapest equivalent looks to be on offer on Autotrader above £10K, so nice bit of breathing space, even taking into account a trade deal.

Depends, Ben. Being new to PM, I'm keen for the SM to open up, so that I can diversify. Saying that, I'm also a tight Yorkshireman, so won't pay over the odds! I guess/hope supply and demand will help keep prices realistic, and allow the SM to flourish - no reason I can really see why it shouldn't.

So that I'm clear (I seem to be asking newbie questions today...) I should consider an SPV here just like a listed company*... any increase in value when the house is sold is passed along via the capital repayments but then subject to CGT, any 'income' in the mean time (i.e. rent) is via dividends and therefore subject to the same allowances / taxs as any other share? (* I get that there is no simple way to 'sell' shares before maturity currently) Thanks I'm told from communications with PM this week that the Secondary Market is imminent, so there soon will be a way to sell shares whenever you like.

Seems like another one of these 8%ers has just been launched. I'm a newbie to PM, but reading this thread like the concept, so will look to add some more funds this weekend to invest.

Thanks p2pblog, yeah I'm on track for the cash back. I figured I'd probably take the £20 hit and sell out after 12 months and still clear a relatively safe 7%+. Enjoying reading your blog btw, in fact think I used one of your referrals to open up an account wth Property Moose a couple of weeks ago!

Taking forever to match a loan for me. Deposited just £1k with them 11 days ago on the 3 year, and still indicating 9 days to go to be matched...I understand if Im not invested by the month-end, I'll fall behind all the reinvestments too, so could be several more days after that before I'm finally loaned out! Not impressed!

On the subject of valuation, on the cars, as well as the year & mileage (almost always given) it would be a great help if you could include the model variant&/or engine size (for us non 'petrol-heads') eg on today's Audi TT is it an S-Line, TDI, TFSI or Sport? I know you can sometimes tell via zooming in on the photos, but not always. If this info was given I could more confidently gauge the values and ultimately increase the stake I take. Does anyone have access to Glasses or Parkers? What does it say for this car - assume it's the cheapest of the variants. No I don't littleoldlady, though I probably should, as my investment size increases. However, a quick glance on Autotrader, shows the cheapest retail sale price for any 2016 variant appears to be a private seller @ £24K: www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609067485367?search-target=usedcars&make=audi&model=tt&aggregatedTrim=S%20Line&year-from=2016&year-to=2016&sort=default&page=1&radius=1500&searchcontext=default&postcode=sk178ql&onesearchad=new%2Cnearlynew%2Cused&logcode=p&adPos=1Appreciate its a private retail sale, and the trade price would be a fair bit less, but with Collateral's £22.5K valuation and a LTV of 64%, I feel there's more than enough wiggle room, for a popular 2016 car. My take of course, no advice intended etc...!
