Yes there were several tranches BL00026 was the top level loan. All my Notlob investments were in 26, but I'm not confident of a meaningful return. I suspect all the development tranches (15 or so?) will get wiped out. Do we know if they're respecting the seniority of the different tranches?

My memory is definitely suffering as I age but I'm sure the news yesterday was 50M people have been vaccinated. Today its now 60M ? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57221506I think it's Matt Hancock's memory that's suffering. He tweeted yesterday about the 50M milestone when it had already been announced weeks ago. There have been 50m doses in England, and 60m in the UK.

According to the administrator's report from July 2020, the total loan was for £5.19m. My notes say the first tranche was for £1,683,600. The first tranche was the senior one, meaning those lenders should get first dibs on any repayment. I don't suppose anybody knows if those rights are being protected?

And don't forget that we basically didn't have a flue season this year. At some point that will be back, and probably be nasty. I'm more optimsitic on this. There is likely to be some voluntary social distancing / mask wearing even in the most optimistic of scenarios. And flu variants change every year; so not having had much of a flu season this year doesn't much increase the likelihood of having a bad one this year, since population immunity is less of an issue.

I notice that the infection rates have been increasing slightly over the last few days and was wondering why.
Do any positive results from the millions of lateral flow tests being carried out on school children this week count in the overall totals? If so are there any sites out there that split the positive cases between PCR tests and lateral flow?
coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/cases?areaType=nation&areaName=England and select "Cases by test type and specimen date" / Data. The LFDs are included in the headline totals. LFDs seem to be about 500-600 cases higher than "normal". (This doesn't work if you select "UK".)

Plenty of contributors here identified this as looking very much like a Ponzi scam years ago, on page 1 of this thread ( invester , Mike , IFISAcava , p2pmark ,...) Were the regulators asleep on the job? Shocking. To clarify, I didn't (and don't) think it was a scam. But I didn't think it would be sustainable for the reasons I set out.

This is very good news. But, AIUI it's not a measure of efficacy, for that you require a double blind randomised trial (such as the recent phase 3 trials). Remember the Pfizer/BioNTech was rolled out before the AZN/Ox and that probably means different cohorts (Pfizer/BioNTech may have a higher median age of recipients than AZN/Ox).It's worth remembering that vaccinated people may have caught the virus in hospital, i.e. they went into hospital for other reasons and were exposed. That probably happened to a family member of mine who thankfully had mild symptoms... I do wonder what would have happened if they hadn't had the vaccine. If anything, the cohort seems younger for the Pfizer vaccine, presumably because healthcare workers could access it first and at hospitals where it was easier to store. www.ed.ac.uk/files/atoms/files/scotland_firstvaccinedata_preprint.pdf (figure 2, page 15)

well none of us are, but that doesn't stop us pontificating. Are u sure it also induces an immune reaction to the vector ? That seems odd - if it did surely that would impact the second dose that was already planned ? I think its effectively benign: it''s just carrying the spike protein into the cell to trigger generation and immune system response. Notwithstanding my previous disclaimer then I'm fairly sure. It's referred to as anti-vector immunity in this, and from this (my bold)... Here's a useful thread on the challenges of adapting vaccines for new variants... A good overview of existing vaccines and the challenges of adapting them for the new variants, in particular the SA variant. Good for Novavax (manufacturing facility in UK, good news for us) but not so good for AZN/Oxford, with Pfizer/Moderna mRNA types limited. Recommend reading the whole thread if of interest.... My hazy understanding is that, for most people, the level of antibodies is not high enough after the first dose to stop them rejecting the sceond dose. The second dose results in even more antibodies being created as the body is primed to create them after the first dose (I guess through T-cells??). But some bodies do reject the second dose - this is less likely to occur if the first dose is weaker or if there has been more time for the level of antibodies to wane slightly. This all suggests a third dose would need a different vector to stop the body rejecting it. And that this kind of vaccine could only be used so often before we run out of mild viruses to adapt.

I thought Robocash weren't taking UK investors after Brexit. Is that not right?

Well they have a shield balance of around £400k. With £93 million pounds worth of loans they need every penny they can get. They can't mix client funds and the shield so this also isn't right. I'm more sceptical than most on LW but you should get your facts right before throwing accusations around.

The security is not watertight, but the company appears to be profitable which is obviously a big plus.

Latest accounts available on Companies House for those that are interested. I didn't see anything alarming, but I'm no accountant.
