Although I have been following this thread diligently, it is worth pointing out that for us Footling Circlers DD is a matter of no consequence any more. <sniffle>

My informant who has been reading between the lines, is of the opinion it has been in existence for a year. Really? I heard it was set up long before the independent forum and the indie forum has merely copied the idea but allowing any old waif n stray in.

The absence of posts from certain members of this forum has been obvious recently - now we know why! Since I joined the forum a year ago I have gained a lot from some of these members, learning more about general DD and specifically about certain loans. I am grateful to them for sharing their knowledge and sorry to see them go. As for this forum, the knowledge and sharing here is absolutely invaluable, as is the good work of the mods. Yes, there is a downside to it being public, but that is far outweighed by the open exchange of information and ideas for everyone to share in.Please don't close the forum! I wondered what had hapened to ozboy perhaps he has gone to this other place. And hor1997 but he was banned wasnt he? Have we got any hidden places on this forum yet I know about the assetz capital one. Harry

- IMO, all regular members should have access to all information
The problem is in deciding what is regular? All 3600 forum members were created equal, but they don't stay equal for long. 50% of members haven't logged on in the last 6 months, and 75% have less than 15 posts. Wherever you draw the line there will be a lot of moaning. It's possible that many of the 50% of members have been viewing the forum as guests. You'd only need to login to see the AC private board or to comment.

...Mod workload could actually decrease as there will be a place that almost any forum member who wishes to can post links and unredacted details of borrowers. I can't remember moderating a single post on the AC private board, and the moderation of the AC public board is minimal as almost all contentious posts go straight onto the private board... If a non-public page reduces mod workload why were the initial requests for the SS page declined - could the ongoing save have offset the one-off coding (and perhaps lenders identifying something from a logged in page for ID if the platform did not engage)? This may have gone some way to preventing any unnecessary splinters and seems to have been undertaken efficiently with the recent introduction of DDC. Just picking up on this. I vaguely recall the discussion..... and iirc at the time it appeared to be a discussion rather than "formal request to look into something". If I / we misinterpreted that then apologies. What I remember being clear about, at least in my own mind, was my scepticism that Lendy would have any interest in validating accounts in a similar way to AC. I remain sceptical about that, it takes Lendy weeks to answer support tickets and they I doubt they enjoy the scrutiny they get here.... There may also have been a concern about the workload. The ongoing AC ask is normally pretty minimal, getting hit with hundreds of requests over a short period of time to permission people for a Lendy private board would have been a different matter, at least in the short term.
