As far I can see the other forum was formed before these members were banned. The other forum is a private members club This entire sentence is wrong p2pfrankdiscussion.freeforums.netSorry I didn't know about the new forum, I thought he was referring to the new forum that was started a while ago. So basically someone got banned and tried to set up for themselves, shame that info will be split but good luck to them trying to moderate all the banned members.

I did not want to link to it because it should not be necessary to have it. I agree entirely about the rules and the need to follow them. I do occasionally suggest that posters modify things. But there is also a need to administer the rules fairly, and to develop them with consent. There needs to be a period of pause and calm reflection, during which the staff might develop procedures to handle a future crisis. The aim should be to rehabilitate those who have not broken the rules as written, and those who will abide by them in future, and to re-unify the forums before the split becomes fixed.

I too missed this 'event', all went on while I was sitting on a warm beach in the Med and just found his thread today, very sad and ultimately to nobody's benefit I'm sure. I didn't really believe Brexit and then even harder was Trump but I eventually got my head around both those situations. However I am not sure I will ever believe #oldgrumpy-banned..... Totally unbelievable however it happened.

As many may be aware we recently put the Forum into Maintenance Mode due to widespread disruption from a group of forum members. Our staff team is currently depleted and we were unable to consult or act quickly on this occasion. It's with regret that we have taken the action to permanently ban several forum members. We have no intention of tolerating baiting/ bullying/trolling or whatever you want to call it in the future, it has no place here. With our thanks to the rest of you for bearing with us, we can only hope that we are not forced into this position again.
There was no intention of closing the forum permanently. If we should come to the point where the forum is unsustainable in the future and needs to close we would of course allow access for members to obtain copies of their posts and PMs. Anyone keeping book on the likelihood of this forum entering 'Maintenance Mode' in the very near future? I can understand everyone's desire to get their point across to the uninitiated and uninformed, but jeez-louise, keep going at it in the same manner as has been witnessed in the last 24 / 48hrs and the intended audience will have be put off by the Signal to Noise Ratio and there'll be no-one left to get that point across to. (And eventually no forum left to make it on, either.)
