I've just completed mine too.
And yes, it only takes 2-3 minutes BUT I treated myself to an insanely enjoyable offloading session and took longer.
Feels good.
Can't believe I took so long to getting around to do this - thanks for the links on this thread so I had absolutely no more excuses for my laziness.

I’ve submitted a complaint too. It’s a case of a bare bones complaint today will probably be more effective than the detailed and referenced document that reaches no further than the to-do list.

One of those jobs I've been meaning to do for ages...... I am gonna do it ! Heck, even for purely selfish reasons its worth doing I would have thought. I mean its technically possible that only those who complain get compensated ? Now done !

The FCA listed a business known as Collateral as a regulated concern then forced its closure claiming it was not regulated, causing me to invest money through the Company which is at risk of being lost.
Brief details of the steps you have taken so far to try and resolve the matter (including any compensation received to date): In the hands of BDO the FCA appointed administrators so no action possible.
Misconduct alleged:
I invested over £*000 through a firm called Collateral, having checked that they were regulated by the FCA. On the above date the FCA caused the court to appoint BDO as administrators after forcing the business to close down, claiming that it was not registered even though it had been shown as so on their website. As expected there is no obvious progress by the administrators and I fear my money will not be safely returned with all interest due to date, but is at risk of being used to pay the highly expensive firm of administrators appointed by the FCA.
Remedy sought: Compensation for any loss caused by FCA incompetence.

This is a really small point, but just in case it ever comes down to this kind of semantic accuracy and because I've seen it several times on this forum, the term 'authorised' (or has/hasn't received 'permission') is better than 'regulated'. The whole industry is regulated by the FCA; the FCA, within the relevant regulations, authorises companies/gives them permission to conduct certain business. So the dispute has never been whether or not Collateral were 'regulated' (they certainly were, hence the FCA's action) - it's whether they were authorised to conduct the business they did. /pedantry over.

Thanks chris1200 a good point in case anyone else copied any of my complaint, hopefully us protected by regulation are not required to have a good knowledge of their technicalities to make a valid complaint.. |

Thanks chris1200 a good point in case anyone else copied any of my complaint, hopefully us protected by regulation are not required to have a good knowledge of their technicalities to make a valid complaint.. I'm sure that's right - I'm just conscious that we have a lot of retail investors here without legal advice and, depending on where this goes, I'm hoping the FCA isn't going to take advantage of that in any way...
