Real world C02 emissions for PHEVs are terrible. If you're daft enough not to plug them in. It's a bit like saying the range and performance is terrible if you don't put petrol or diesel in. but that is exactly what happens. They were gettig bought as company cars because of the tax breaks (i recall they have not stopped for hybrids) and then never saw a power socket in their life.

Even if you do. Read the article. Which says things like... So PHEV compared to a pure BEV? Yes, they emit more CO2. Obvs. Which is the whole point of the article. But better than a non-hybrid or better than a non-plugin? Yes. Reminder - non-hybrids are being removed from new sale in 2030, hybrids in 2035. They're a stopgap. You started your reply before I edited my comment! My personal view is those figures are terrible, but it's a fair point. If the cars are plugged in. See bracknellboy above.

Thanks for that....its a 2ltr diesel engine, and can be plugged into the mains.. so its a PHEV. I did ask him if he would come up with some figures of the mpg on a run and also round town, but he told me to bugger off... so ive no idea whether its eco friendly or not. Something wrong here, I think. To the best of my knowledge, no Audi in the UK has ever sported a 2ltr diesel PHEV power unit. Their Q5 PHEVs have all been petrol. They do produce a diesel PHEV, but that's a 3ltr lump and it's only available in their Q7 range. Diesel PHEVs in general are very thin on the ground - only Audi, Mercedes and Volvo have ever produced them - and the only company to make a 2ltr diesel PHEV variant has been Mercedes. so it one o them then. thanks

So not a Q5 model after all. Or even an Audi. But definitely a hybrid, most probably a plug-in version, with an engine of unknown capacity thought to be a diesel but could still be a petrol at a pinch, that is possibly now a Mercedes, or at least a European maker... probably. But anyway its pure electric range isn't that great. They're always the most convincing, those anecdotes like this that leave no loose ends...

Q5 ...its a petrol... point being why not LPG, considering the overall cost of this car I'm sure an additional ~2k on the price would make this joke car a far better eco friendly proposition ... and why a woeful 15mls ev range... this is purely about selling extortionately priced cars to eco friendly buffoons who know no better.. (sorry son)

As I suggested, just about all the Just Stop Oil have been proven to have committed no crime. Their actions were reasonable and a jury of their peers have released them.

I thought I 'd look at our MPs running the departments that will save our sorry climate
Grant Shapps. Managed 5 O levels and an HND Lucy Frazer. Went to Newnham but nowhere does it say she got a degree (but she did get married there, well done) so I assumed, failed Kemi Badenech. Has a M.Eng in some serious subject (thank god) Michelle Donelan. Has a BA in History in Politics (no scores on the doors there so I assume a 3 or below)
What a pitiful state the Conservative party has got to ......
Would you seriously assume that these people are capable of challenging the well educated CEOs of energy companies or pushing back against their civil servants

If she had a first then it would be on her CV. Even a 2:1 or a 2 would have been posted. So I assume a 3 or a pass but lawyering is a funny business so she might have just been articled.

My favourite news outlet.... Aljazeera?
The swear in is actually longer than that. Probably worth reading it all....
Then ask why some judges are refusing to let some evidence be brought forward.
As to why some judges are arresting people outside for holding up bits of paper which are then reported in newspapers, and yet no editors arrested, should surely worry everyone.
