Rado hyperchrome 1314. £2560.00
Stunningly beautiful watch and at a reasonable price compared to rolex or patek Philippe. I think I'm gonna go for it.
Ltd edition as well only 1314 pieces.

Got 5 watches under £5.00 in total delivered to my door. Each less than price of the postage sending in UK.
Cheaper to buy new watch and get it delivered than going to a shop to get battery fitted here . Batteries last ages. (old watches to charity shop)
Don't need to worry about them getting scratched or lost.

Watch out for muggers, make sure it's insured and be aware you are advertising that you are wealthy (even if you're not!) by wearing a very expensive watch.

Lol. 2.5k is not wealthy. Barely a months salary. If you want to see wealthy check out the cost of Rolex or Omega.

Rolex are the best for resale value. They are the apple of watches. I just wish I could afford the rolex Daytona 2019. £13k direct from rolex!

Wondering if it's better to buy a 2nd hand rolex or a new rado.
Any ideas ?

In the novel 1984, the hero has a hobby of collecting little medals or plates. The cost of these unique/limited addition items exactly mimics the amount of money he has saved in his bank account so removing any savings monthly. The novel fails to say if he ever resells these items and so one assumes the state has found a way to absorb excess cash from its citizens.
In the same way, Big Business (I hope you saw what I did there) has found a way to absorb the excess cash built up by its citizens. The opportunity to resell of course is a way out but probably is based on the "Bigger Fool" system.
BTW if you buy a great watch you probably need to buy a mechanical movement mechanism to keep it happy and perhaps a lovely glass dish to sit over the two items, with perhaps a spotlight.... and so it goes on.
Or you could do something useful with the money.

Does it have to be Swiss? You're obviously paying a premium for that.
Is their a particular style you're keen on?
Size? The Rado you linked is quite small at 36mm. Maybe you have slim wrists or aren't keen on the current fashion of huge watches.
Be aware that expensive watches can cost a lot to service/repair.
You will obviously get better value buying second hand.

Or you could do something useful with the money. Prob could do something more useful. But decent luxury watches are getting more expensive every year. If I wait I will end up paying more. Especially with brexit round the corner.

What do you recommend for around 3k ? The Rado you chose is actually to my taste, a subtle design and a good size as said. I don't like overly busy dials with a plethora of pointless functions. Has anything else caught your eye? Perhaps worth having a skim through sites like ablogtowatch.com or wornandwound.com for inspiration. Obviously you should buy what you like the look of, and if certain Swiss brands have cachet that's fair enough. Have a look to see what's possible second hand for Rolex - www.watchfinder.co.uk/Rolex/watchesPersonally, I like Grand Seiko (probably second hand for that budget) or an example just within - watchesofmayfair.com/brand/grand-seiko/all-grand-seiko-watches/grand-seiko-sbga285-spring-drive, and Nomos - nomos-glashuette.com/en . Much better value than you'd get for the same money from a Swiss brand, particularly to get an in house movement.
