They also need to be consistent there are times when pertinent information is not supplied as an update but as an answer to a question.

Maybe AC could just put an icon on the loan list to indicate that an update has applied recently (e.g. last 30 days). 30 days is probably too long, as the result would mean too many loans having the icon. I'd guess 7-10 days would be more reasonable. A really good solution, IMHO, would be if the user could set the parameter. When you log into the website every couple of days, you could set it to two or three days. When you return from a fortnight's holiday, you could set it to 15 days. Etc., etc.

My personal preference would be that, as browse loans has two views, one of which is detailed, the detailed one show the most recent comment (or at least the first 200 characters or whatever fits). Update on Loan 68 CC L****** R****** B****** - the update is dated 10 Feb, got fed up of checking on this one and had completely missed it! Have AC given up telling us about loan updates?

Have AC given up telling us about loan updates? It sure looks like it.  There was an update to #129/#137 today that AC haven't bothered to mention here.
