Well, I’ve had an email from Lendy suggesting that they think they know that I think I know who I am but telling me not to feel smug as they’re going on to check whether my bank account knows who it is and whether it is connected to who it thinks I am so - or words to that effect.

Well mine are winging their way to them as I type.
Few interesting point were made by 'my man' that they will sometimes only accept black and white copies of passports (so he sent both colour and black and white). Also they can be picky about bank statements not being from paper originals, but they had not been specific so felt a downloaded copied copy was ok.

Has any one else had spam phone calls? I've never given the house number away, where I live, as it's not my phone, but the person who's phone it is, is getting calls about unsecured debt and the Government or something.
I'm wondering about evidence for GDPR not being adhered to - with Lendy as there will be a lot of ways in which data could have been leaked. Also in the london loan.
Do external agencies get to know whether a credit check is being run? What if I'm with cifas and they have been alerted (but again, I don't give the landline number out).

Thank you for your email.
We can accept certified* printed copies of internet or pdf bank statement - as long as they feature your name, address, postcode and the details match your Lendy Platform registered bank account.
*’Certified’ means certified by a responsible person such as a professional (Bank or Building Society official; Councillor; Minister of religion; Dentist or Doctor; Chartered Accountant; Solicitor or Notary; Teacher or Lecturer) that “the document is a true copy of the original” (this wording must be included). You need to be able to see the name, occupation and contact details of the person certifying in case of query, and the date of certification.

From past experience, you may have a little trouble in getting someone to certify printed copies from the internet, unless they know you very well. If a computer printed bank statement from a high street bank, generally no problem. If a bank statement from an online only bank, you might have issues in the certification. Let me know how it pans out - thx

I have passed the checks, my wife has not. I can think of no earthly reason why she would fail the ID check and I would not? Same address, same mount of time, both on the electoral register etc. Not happy at all, particularly when I see another very expensive firm has been hired to do this. And why the hell do they need statements with my transactions showing? Now I'm bloody annoyed.

I have to say that this all seems very odd and not a little bit suspicious.
In the last three years I have had no trouble opening new bank accounts and getting new credit cards. I have lived at the same address for more than 20 years, there is absolutely no rational reason why the AML check has failed.
I think I need to conduct my own investigation as to why the AML has not succeeded before I release more personal information to a company that I had never heard of until a few months ago. This is unlikely to be completed before 31st Oct and will almost certainly require 'Subject Access Requests' to Experian, Lendy and RSM to see where any discrepancy lies. Due to other more important commitments this is unlikely to start before 21st Oct. After that I may need assurances regarding RSM document security and retention and destruction policy before I comply with their request. It's a good job that the amount I have trapped in Lendy is modest and I don't need it a hurry.
This whole fiasco looks like it really is going to take a while to play out.

I'm kind of assuming I failed because my account is 27 years old - pre 2000?
But I'm now getting frustrated because a pdf of my statement is printing as a blank! I'm with Santander. Any ideas anyone? EDIT: now sorted!

Yes, same bank account. I can think of absolutely no reason why she should have failed.

Yes, same bank account. I can think of absolutely no reason why she should have failed. Could be they're actually being sensible and realised they only needed to check one of you, not both?

Everyone seems to be talking about receiving an E-mail to say they have passed/not passed the checks, yet I haven't received any E-mail confirming either way? Am I the only one?

I received a reply when i said that I wouldnt be sending them any documents until they could confirm that they have money ready to pay me. Their response is:- "If you are unable to meet the deadline due to awaiting the funds being applied to your account, I will note this on your account."
They also repeated the paragraphs about certified copies when i said that my bank statements were provided electronically and that I would be happy to send them an original.
Make of that what you will.

I then checked mine & my husband's experian credit scores & he has a good score, whilst I, on the other hand, have insufficient information for them to verify me as a member of the human race. Basically, I'm on the electoral register & have a current account in our joint names. Meanwhile, all utility bills, credit cards etc are in his name, but all our P2P investments are in my name, as I don't pay tax. Looks like a trip to the bank to get a statement printed & signed by them.

Looks like a trip to the bank to get a statement printed & signed by them. I doubt it has anything to do with credit rating, I have a perfect score on Experian (literally), the bank account used on Lendy was an old one though which I think might be one of the factors. I tend to have problems anywhere I use that account so rarely do on P2P now. It just looks like they have not applied any flexibility in making the decision, and many will be seriously inconvenienced as a consequence. I was lucky and a few texts and an email let me sub-contract the task, still annoying though.
