I wonder how many of the 23% who failed the AML verification actually had a credit search done ,I know that apart from 2 insurance quotes my last search was in April,so makes me wonder if RSM just forgot about a lot of these and thought "another nice little earner coming up here gov" Kuflink was doing an online verification where you either take a live picture with your phone or webcam which I thought at the time was nonsense but compared to this fiasco it turns out to be a good idea

I received a reply when i said that I wouldnt be sending them any documents until they could confirm that they have money ready to pay me. Their response is:- "If you are unable to meet the deadline due to awaiting the funds being applied to your account, I will note this on your account." They also repeated the paragraphs about certified copies when i said that my bank statements were provided electronically and that I would be happy to send them an original. Make of that what you will. I'm not sure fighting the system is likely to change it, it'll just rack up the fees they charge.

Whilst I'm sure you're right, I'm pretty reluctant to share personal data in this way with a company that seems less than competent in handling such data. Asking for unredacted bank statements when recent transactions form part of the banks' telephone security questions appears like a recipe for identity theft and fraud to me.

Strangely, they put my street name in twice as in they repeated the name that came before "street" I have copied and pasted the screen into an email to Lendy and asked them to try again with the correct address. (May not make a difference but it allowed me to vent a little)

It seems like a standard KYC procedure done by a law firm registered in Law society. I suppose Shoosmiths know more about those contract terms of the loans. I am not an expert, no idea what's need to be done in order to get our money back regarding those loan contracts.
It seems like some loans are less trouble than others not require KYC at all, otherwise, all of us would have to submit documents to Shoosmith.

Luckily, I live in an area where there are a few solicitors on the high street. So, here's the damage: £10 for certifying 2 documents & £1.90 for 1st class signed for. PS, I also posted a receipt for certifying the documents as well, just in case. Now I wonder if this causes major inconvenience for those living outside UK. Don't suppose this is in London or nearby? I emailed the one closest to me and they wanted a silly amount to do it.

Very unhappy about being asked to post a full unredacted copy of my bank statement. I was a victim of identity fraud last year and I guess it's just possible that the Cifas entries on my Experian report have prompted this request, although I doubt it judging from other posts on this forum.

Try the outskirts, smaller practices - I've paid the same £5 per document for certification/witnessing from both Greater London and 'Medium Sized Town' (a long way from London) solicitors only last year - it's certainly worth asking more than one.

I think £5 per document is quite common for small / medium LLPs and I have done a few times in different parts of England, have you google searched "£5 solicitor document your_Town"?

this particular branch of shoosmiths has had a few official complaints against them upheld by the legal ombudsman in favour of the clients. one reads failure to progress matters another one just states delays.what are RSM trying to do to us all.

Anyone know if it's legitimate for my sister in law to certify for me.
It doesn't say anything about relatives being unacceptable in the email.
