Well I guess that the front pages of all the newspapers for the next week, the lead story on every news bulletin.... Or maybe not ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Trump's done her a favour. What she did seems inexcusable. She should (and I'm sure will) go, just as Dom should have. What she was thinking I can't imagine.Good point about Trump - I thought the same. About her strangely I can. Quite easily in fact. So you have a big speech (to you) on Monday that you've been working up to all week. There are 650 ish MPs so lowly backbench newbies don't all get the chance to speak that often so its quite a big moment. You develop a bit of a cough but basically you're ok so you go down to London. At this point I think law broken but there is a fine line between having or not having symptoms and if you're close to that line.. well.... So she gets to London gets the result of her test and its positive. Now panic sets in. Maybe she's got nowhere to stay in London or noone to help her if she gets really bad. She knows she's 60 and knows it could get really bad. She panics and goes back up to Scotland. Whatever people say, your own life comes first except maybe those of your children. We're programmed that way. The problem in my view is not so much her behaviour of spreading this around (like many youngsters do every evening) its the absolutely hypocritical behaviour - even taking part in a debate relating to Covid whilst spreading it around. So being part of an establishment that sets rules for others to follow but not following them herself. Here's the problem with this, I don't think these rules are realistically followable. So we have lawmakers who have set rules that large sectors of society will have great difficulty in following including themselves. They need to have a rethink.

Hundreds of students at Northumbria University are self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19. A spokesman for the university, in Newcastle, confirmed 770 students had tested positive, 78 of whom are symptomatic.
So only 10% showing symptoms. Not suprisingly, the University and College Union are blaming everyone for the problem apart from the students who haven't been following the regs.

Well, I have to say I do hope they spread it amongst each other as fast as possible. Once they've had it, they're essentially immune and will not be passing it on any further.

Can't help thinking that catching the virus is probably the best thing Trump has done for the American people. Lets just hope his gun toting looney supporters don't think this is some sort of weird conspiracy (do I hear the ghost of Castro chuckling that the American Intelligence agencies' methods appear to have improved? ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) )

I think the most worrying thing about the Trump situation is that if he was to go down hill second in command (Pence) has a similar cavalier attitude to the virus, and third in command is the odious fancy Nancy.

What she was thinking I can't imagine. In retrospect, Dom couldn't have gone because without him our PM has absolutely no coherent ideas or plan, and everyone around the PM has been chosen on the basis of blind obedience to the government line and subservience to the idealism of purist Brexitology. Cummings IS the government at the moment. But more and more his failure to go exemplifies the decayed core of this failing and corrupt administration. OK - got that off my chest. Poor as they are, remember we could have been stuck with terrorist-loving Corbyn, Comrade McDonnell and Abacus Abbott in charge. With lashings of Long-Bailey, Dawn Butler and Jess Phillips to cheer us all up.

I guess if Labour had won the last GE we wouldn't be worrying about a second wave of the virus as the country would already be bankrupt.

Johnson will go down in History for saving the country ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... from Jeremy Corbyn. And probably nothing else will be said in BoJo’s favour. JC the worst prime minister the country might have had. BJ the worst prime minister the country did have.Think you're being a bit unfair on BJ, given he has only been in the job for a year.

JC the worst prime minister the country might have had. BJ the worst prime minister the country did have. I wonder if BJ has actually recovered. It feels as if he is just going through the motions. Stumbling on. I don't like some of his cabinet choices either - Hancock stands out for me. JC - I'm glad he didn't win. He had no chance really not just because of his policies and the media against him. His personality wasn't suited. One or two of his policies I actually did like including nationalising rail and possibly some utilities. De-Nuking I liked too. Sadly they were more than offset by the likelihood of taxes going through the roof and other matters.
