How big is the wave? “Sadly yes Omicron is producing hospitalisations and sadly at least one patient has been confirmed to have died with Omicron.” I may live to regret it saying this amongst our demographic (older), but the chap I mostly follow thinks it will be nothing compared to last winter and moreover may even be the end of the pandemic. I'm going with that. Edit: And why do I think we're being fed this "be afraid of omicron and get boosted" line? Boris is doing badly in the polls the last thing that boosted him (if you'll excuse the pun) was the vaccine rollout. So why not try it again ?

The reaction is your immune system kicking in to fight this invader. That's how it learns to deal with it, how it works. my side effects were horrific, 2 days after Moderna ( booster ) I struggled to get out of bed, I still have pains when I straighten my knees or elbows, pain from the vaccination site running into my neck, and that's nearly 3 weeks after. That sounds very unpleasant and I hope you feel better soon. Did you raise a yellow card to report it (and if not then please can you do so, they are very quick and easy to do).

My feeling we are “tested” by the scientists since the first wave started.
Children don’t have a choice and become the “control”.
Worse, there aren’t any rewards for taking part of this big experiment.

How big is the wave? “Sadly yes Omicron is producing hospitalisations and sadly at least one patient has been confirmed to have died with Omicron.” The Omicron patients in hospital range from 18-85, almost all double-jabbed.

Fat lot of help the jabbing was then. More importantly, we don't know if these people were admitted for other reasons or whether they're on oxygen or whether they're in the ICU or indeed whether they're intubated.

Playing remote-diagnosis-doctor via news headlines is not exactly a productive method of deciding public health policy.

And, to be fair, I wasn't thinking that when I caught the (presumably) Delta variant.

We are being advised that the booster is important to give good protection from the omnicron variant, so not that surprising, but as said probably many more if people hadn't got vaccinated at all.

We know they give less protection than two plus booster. We know they give less protection against omicron than they do against delta. Delta is currently the prevalent version in the majority of the UK, by a large margin. - but - We know they give more protection than no jabs. - and -We know that they only need a single booster to give high protection. Basically, you're working backwards with the aim of finding justification for an anti-booster standpoint, right?
