I've just listed my own GEIA holdings for sale so I'll monitor how it progresses over the next few days. If it doesn't sell as I would expect it to then I'll prioritise making some changes to aid that. I'm sure chris doesn't mean to imply that if it happens to him it's worth looking into whereas... Not at all. But to fix something I need to be able to replicate it, otherwise how can I be sure I know what's wrong and that I've fixed it? Doing this for myself also gives me a controlled environment where I know the state of everything going in and that I'm using the system as intended. If it works for me then that gives a different course of investigation than if it doesn't work for me.

My problem with the GEIA is if the worst comes to the worst, just how long would it take to exit. Appreciate you need someone to purchase your units but if they are going into the general pool, with U/W's taking priority over the sale process then you could in certain circumstances be in for a long wait - or until the loan actually matures taking it to extremes.

The way things are now, it's looking an awful lot like the GEIA is a 3-year notice account!

My gut reaction is that the account wont sell any other of the loans until loan 112 has had a sale to reduce its weighting under 20% and due to the £463k available Im dependent upon luck to sell and behind any underwriter trying to sell. Therefore, Im trapped in until loan 112's availability reduces. I would have though that if you attempt to sell all your holdings in the account, it should do this first ignoring the 20% rule and sell down when it can. It would be interesting to see if others who have struggled to sell are also sitting on a weighting above 20% on loans 93 & 112 or that my example is just co-incidence. Either way, I want to sell loans that have no availablity in the aftermarket and the GEIA is not doing so. It would be good if Chris could look into this and see if the 20% diversification rule is blocking sales of other loans, when he has some time as I understand he's a very busy man. my GEIA Report for life: lifetime for Green Energy Income Account
Loan name Loan
A************ W*** T****** #93 -105.80 B****** W*** T****** #83 -24.31 C************** W*** T****** L*** #125 -125.52 C******* W*** T****** L*** #121 -33.62 C****** W*** T****** #77 -20.74 F******* W*** T****** L*** #127 -59.35 M******* W*** T****** #112 -131.95 N**** L****** W*** T****** #90 -88.54 S****** W*** T****** #106 -92.73
Grand Totals: -682.56
so loan 90 at 19.3% does the MLIA count towards these % as well? (trying to sell 125, 90 and 83 there without success) best regards Dave (on the bright side - If I had sold all ny GLIA, I would own more #146 :/ )

my GEIA Report for life: lifetime for Green Energy Income Account...
Loan name................... Loan
M******* W*** T****** #112 -131.95
Grand Totals: -682.56
so loan 90 at 19.3% Firstly, it looks like it's Loan #112 that's 19.3%. But that's not why I'm writing... dave: How did you generate that report? I'd like to know how my GEIA investment is distributed, but I don't want to trawl through all the entries in my statement manually.

mikes1531 - I am planning to post the perl script to the pink pages when I get home tonight - it might take the rest of the weekend to write up the FAQ's etc. if 'perl --version' runs from a command prompt on your machine, it should work (tested with ubuntu 8.04lts here, and latest debian/testing) best regrds Dave

Good I hope.

Thanks for the honest feedback chrisOne major change is now live that should improve the way the site goes about listing loans for sale when you have a withdrawal target set. This has helped my green account holdings sell down by a huge amount. Further changes are in the works.

Thanks for the honest feedback chrisWell something has changed after nothing by way of WT loans shifting in either my MLIA or GEIA since mid December, the whole lot (barring #143) has sold within a period of 2 minutes starting at 10:40 this morning. My GEIA is now almost but not quite closed as there is just the matter of a few micro-pence worth of accrued interest outstanding.

Mine's all sold too. So it looks as though a reasonably prompt exit from the GEIA is available if required.
