A lot of truth in that. That little 'flutter' from PBs each month is just enough to placate my inner gambling demon, so saves me an awful lot of otherwise lost wagers at the bookies, scratch cards, national lottery, etc. I wonder if that's true for others? I used to have a nasty habit in the pub of putting my loose change in the fruit machine. When covid came along I stopped because of concerns over touching buttoms that lots of other people had touched.
Over 3 years later, still haven't touched one (although I do spend money occasionally on Candy Crush).

I haven’t touched a fruit machine for 12 years. However, I heard some clever dudes made a living by playing some specific AWP machines with a jamming gadget and win.

Many years ago I was on a trip with my parents and younger sister.
She found 5P on the floor and wandered over and put it in a fruit machine, Lol only the last reel span as the first 2 were jammed on a win I might add.
so she gets 10p out, puts that back in and gets 20p, puts that in and wins £1 and it holds, and a couple more 10p wins
In about 15 minutes she took about £30 out, then we had to go get back on the bus.
in the mid 70's £30 was a lot of money

If you'd stayed and missed the bus, she could have gone on to afford a family meal out and a taxi home.

I love this thread.
Found 5p on the ground day before yesterday. Pocketed it and walked on then fell over a chain and wrenched my knee so badly that I've been staggering ever since.
What should I do with the 5p?

What should I do with the 5p? put a slit in the top of a champagne cork and insert the 5p. Its meant to bring good luck. You might wrench the other knee so you balance out

Start a new collection and turn them into NFT, or art collection, then ask some professionals to sell them in a art gallery. Who knows if the professional also hand you a big cheque before you sell your own art collection with some clever finance magic to fix the knee.
