Sure, but any increase in the discount and your return is massively reduced if you want any access to the money. It's a gamble, and you are stuck in it if it turns against you. Anyway, each to their own - I am delighted to be getting out at 0.9% (or less - lets see if my 0.6-0.8% offers get taken up). From your reply were you using one of a series of limit instructions to sell just now? not sure about limit instructions per se, but I just sold some at 0.8%, and I have some available at 0.7 and 0.6%. Feel free to take it up!

Somewhat interesting thing is just like there is an illogical barrier to say tge ftse. Hitting 7000 / 8000 there is / was resistance at 5% 2% 1% and you would now expect there are very few sales now between 1% & Zero.
I certainly would expect a significant drop on 1/2

Happy to have sold some at 0.7% and 0.6% discount. Last remaining chunks available at 0.5% and 0.4% then I am out of the AAs.

AC have not managed the situation faultlessly, but they have done well all things considered. Highly unlikely you would have “lost the lot”. In fact I fail to see how that could happen, especially if you’d been lending for a few years.

To lose the lot a large amount of real estate would have to be made worthless. Not going to happen.
To lose access to the lot - yes, for some time, but I agree AC have taken the right course.

You are of course entirely correct, but when fear takes over you start considering extreme scenarios. The same fear is what drove people to liquidate their shares at any price and cause a 30% drop in the stock market. In hindsight the risk of losing it all was very low, but at the time things were a bit hectic and it seemed very real to me 10 months ago.

In my experience, over the last couple of days 0.7% is instant, 0.6% has been selling fairly quickly and 0.5% is not moving. This will of course change.
